What are these mysterious surge tanks? Surge tanks are fairly common in race cars, and now they are available for the consumer who daily drives their vehicle but lets loose every once in a while on a weekend track day. These surge tanks have been designed to keep the fuel supply constant to your fuel pump(s) under extreme cornering where the g-forces can otherwise starve the fuel pump from fuel. And when that happens, bad things can happen such as leaning out under boost or you will simply experience fuel cut.
