Will this reduce crackles and pops noises we all love?? because at stock I would here more pops and crackles and with it on I verbally hear it or not as much especially when down shifts
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will increase the flow of air which may reduce the pops and crackles we love, but in the name of efficiency.

  • Q: Tune for BOV?   19rex4 years ago

Will my 2019 require a tune with a BOV for it to run correctly?
  • Q: Cobb XLE BOV adjustments  The angry badger7 years ago

I recently bought a cobb xle bov for an 08 wrx sedan. I have an cobb sf cold intake installed, so my question is i been hearing the bov can be recirculating, 50/50, and something else. So how to i change my bov to those settings and which one would be the best for my car. Also so i need to adjust the allen screw on top?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Hybrid option gives you a 50/50 valve. 50% vents back into the atmosphere, while the other 50% gets recirculated back into the intake. You can remove the flange plate on the rear to make that happen.

  • Q: backfires with no tune  bjg92239498 years ago

if i have a 2012 stock wrx and i put this BOV on without a tune or anything and make it 50/50 will it cause any type of back firing or anything?? i guess basically im wondering if i put it on a stock engine with 50/50 so i can get some noise from it, will it cause a back fire or any other problems?? thank you!!
    • 0 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  50/50 BOVs on Subarus usually cause some backfiring, but it should be minimal with this valve, and backfiring generally does not hurt anything.

  • Q: After installing bpv  ronmaliksi002738868 years ago

After installing the cobb bpv, would I have to reflash the ECU? Noob question... Thanks RSD!
  • Q: 02 WRX wagon  Connor58 years ago

I bet you get these questions alot but I see you say you dont need a tune for this BOV which is confusing cause people always say you do if you get a BOV, but do you really need a upgraded turbo for this or can you run it on a Stock Turbo, and will it give me that Mad BOV sound? Cause honestly thats all im going for lol.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A blowoff valve can be used on a stock turbocharger. This is a recirculating blowoff valve in original form and will be almost silent, but if you were to remove the atmospheric backing plate you will see a bit of noise when venting to atmosphere. If sound is the priority something like the Go Fast Bits or Turbosmart valve may be the better option.

Sorry about this noob question. So do I need to tune my car first to install this BOV ,or I can just install it with out any tune ? And will it have bad effect with my tomei catback?
    • 1 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Tuning is not required for a BOV and there should be no issues with your Tomei Catback Exhaust.

  • Q: Stock gasket  06subaruWRX8 years ago

Will this bov work with the stock 06 wrx tmic rubber gasket or will a grimspeed tmic gasket work better?
  • Q: Would this mount on a Perrin FMIC?  Razor Sharp8 years ago

Would there be an additional adapter for this to mount on a Perrin FMIC kit? I currently have a Perrin recirculating bov connected directly to the intake pipe.
  • Q: FMIC BLOW OFF VALVE  jacobo_divine360168 years ago

How would this blow off valve work on a front mount intercooler??
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is a recirculating valve so whichever front mount system you have should either include a bypass valve hose or it is expected to run atmospheric.

  • Q: Front mount  Cesar-Ramirez9 years ago

Will this fit on a front mount also , or would i need to get something else for it?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This valve is going to be vehicle (flange) specific. If the front mount kit you bought has the same flange as one of the vehicles in the confirmed applications list, it should mount up no problem. If not, modification would be necessary. Thank you.

  • Q: 50/50 with tune  Mac248019 years ago

So I currently am running fully recirculation with this. Will it mess up my tune if I run 50/50?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Venting to atmosphere does not require a tune, but it may have negative side effects like running rough at idle or rich spikes on shifts.

  • Q: GR fitment?  BJJMark959 years ago

Will this fit the GR STi? On Cobbs website they have the same product code for this model (712650) listed as being compatible with 2004-2014 STis? Just a bit confused on the different fitment information.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We have found that there are clearance issues with this valve and the hood on 2008+ STI models. This may fit 08+ STIs with modification, but we cannot guarantee it.

    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is a super high quality valve for the 2006 STi! One of my personal favorites. I recommend investing in a new blow off valve gasket, we offer both the OEM and the Grimmspeed at this time. :) Thank you.

  • Q: Compatible with Process West TMIC and recirculating hose ?  buckner8410 years ago

Currently, I have the Process West TMIC and the HKS SSQV. Due to the fact that this intercooler sits higher up than the original, my BPV is making contact with my hood. Are there any clearance issues with the Cobb BPV, and will the elbow reach the recirculating hose ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You should not have any problems with clearance running the Cobb BPV with the Process West intercooler kit. The angle at which the valve comes off of the intercooler still provides sufficient clearance to the hood while the SSQV is much larger than the Cobb and is much more prone to clearance issues. The Cobb valve was designed to reuse the factory return hose.

A:  In all seriousness, you cant describe a sound like that as it will change based on your boost pressure and BOV spring tension.... your best bet is to go to local meets or check out youtube for people that have them installed.

  • Q: 2011 Legacy GT?  13FRacing11 years ago

Will this work on my Legacy GT?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will not work on any 2010+ Legacy GT models. The blow off valve on the 2010+ models actually sits on the intake tube on the bottom front part of the motor and uses a hose attachment instead of a flange. You will want to confirm the size of the hose but there is a possibility that the EVO 8/9/10 blow off valves would be compatible.
