Once you start performing modifications that increase horsepower or torque, and if you are running more boost then you will surpass the thermal cooling capacity of the factory top mount intercooler which can lead to heat soak in your 02-07 WRX 04-14 STI or the 04-08 Forester. This top mounted intercooler is a great performance and efficiency upgrade over the stock intercooler and in turn will help reduce your intake air temps!
