RallySport Direct now carries highly sought-after high-performance upgrades and accessories brought to you by IAG Performance.
The IAG Performance V3 Street Series Air/Oil Separator (AOS) is a highly recommended investment for maintaining the optimal performance of your Subaru vehicle. Designed to work in harmony with the OEM PCV system, the Street Series AOS supplements its capacity effectively. Developed through extensive testing on various standard and competition applications, this AOS boasts a large, 1-liter cast aluminum swirl pot canister. This design ensures efficient separation of oil from the PCV system, preventing it from reaching the intake system. Setting itself apart from other options, the Street Series AOS features a fully-heated cast aluminum housing, superior venting, and an innovative, patent-pending baffle design. Compatible with all fuel types and suitable for standard ECU calibrations, the Street Series AOS not only extends engine life but also improves crankcase ventilation for optimal performance.
KEEPS OIL OUT OF THE INTAKE:
Preventing premature mechanical failure and preserving performance relies heavily on the exclusion of oil from the engine intake tract. The presence of oil within the intake tract yields various detrimental effects. Firstly, it coats the internal components of the intake system, intercooler, and associated piping. This coating can lead to the premature deterioration of rubber or silicone hoses, resulting in failed connections.
Once the oil infiltrates the intake tract, it directly enters the intake manifold, subsequently reaching the engine's combustion chamber. The introduction of oil into the combustion chamber brings forth a range of issues, including detonation and preignition, heightened emissions, smoke production, power loss, diminished fuel efficiency, and, in severe cases, catastrophic engine failure that incurs significant repair costs.
MAINTENANCE-FREE:
The IAG AOS is specifically designed to offer a maintenance-free experience. Unlike conventional catch-can systems, our Air Oil Separators eliminate the need for regular draining and upkeep. Once installed, the system operates effortlessly without any further maintenance requirements. Separated oil accumulates on the inner walls of the AOS can and gradually drains back into the engine's crankcase by gravity. Thanks to our unique heating system, the captured oil remains free of sludge, ensuring safe recirculation back into the engine. With its generous volume, the AOS body allows ample time for oil drainage, mitigating the risk of overflow commonly associated with smaller catch cans.
MAINTAINS FUNCTION OF THE OEM PCV SYSTEM:
The Street Series AOS not only maintains the functionality of the OEM PCV system but also enhances its capacity. In the Street Series AOS, the PCV discharge gases are directed back to the turbo inlet, with the inclusion of a PCV valve that enhances suction, leading to improved air oil separation. This configuration is particularly beneficial for ethanol-fueled applications, as the Street Series AOS safeguards against oil dilution and lubrication failures by capturing fuel vapors from the oil and returning them to the intake tract for combustion.
By effectively capturing both oil entrainment in the intake flow and oil dilution in the engine's lubrication system, the Street Series AOS surpasses the capabilities of the OEM PCV system alone. This comprehensive protection ensures optimal performance and longevity for your engine.
INSIDE THE AOS:
The IAG Air Oil Separator incorporates a distinctive baffle system designed to effectively capture and channel the oil present in the engine's PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) gases back to the crankcase. Strategically positioned on one side of the AOS body, the inlet hoses contribute to the creation of a swirling motion within. As the gases enter, they circulate along the inner walls of the AOS body, guided by a series of baffles. These baffles serve the dual purpose of collecting oil while allowing the gases to escape from the top of the AOS. Importantly, by maintaining the OEM PCV operation, the engine generates a vacuum that aids in evacuating the PCV gases through the AOS assembly.
HEATED TO REDUCE CONDENSATION BUILDUP:
The IAG Street Series Air Oil Separator incorporates an innovative heating system to address a common problem encountered with inferior catch cans. By integrating the AOS with the vehicle's cooling system, we effectively transfer the engine's heat into the AOS. This proactive approach resolves the issue of condensation formation inside cold hoses when hot PCV gases pass through them. Over time, this condensation mixes with the oil within the system, leading to the formation of sludge. However, by heating the AOS body to match the engine's temperature, the occurrence of condensation and the subsequent buildup are significantly reduced or even eliminated altogether. This ensures a cleaner and more efficient operation of the AOS system.
SIMPLE PLUG-AND-PLAY INSTALLATION:
IAG's team of engineers aimed to create an effortless installation process for the 2022+ Subaru WRX. To achieve this, they have developed custom injection molded fittings that are specifically designed to connect seamlessly to the unique breather ports of the 2022+ Subaru WRX. These fittings are designed to be plug-and-play, requiring no modifications for installation onto the OEM breather ports. Additionally, you have the option to choose from three different colors for the AOS, allowing you to accentuate your engine bay according to your preference.
