MAXIMIZE YOUR FA20 WRX'S PERFORMANCE POTENTIAL

Crafted for modified FA20 DIT Subaru WRXs aiming for heightened performance, the IAG 800 Short Block offers a robust solution to withstand increased cylinder pressures resulting from boosted pressure and larger turbochargers. The IAG 800 short block integrates IAG's exclusive closed-deck cylinder support system, reinforcing the OEM FA20 cylinder walls for enhanced durability. With IAG Spec H-Beam forged connecting rods at its core, this short block ensures dependable performance even under demanding conditions. Additionally, reinforced head gasket sealing, achieved through an o-ring and 1/2" head studs, provides extra compression, making it an ideal choice for enthusiasts looking to extract the utmost performance from their fully upgraded FA20 WRXs.

    CRAFTED FROM 100% NEW COMPONENTS

The journey of the IAG 800 short block commences with the acquisition of pristine Subaru FA 2.0L engine case halves, meticulously prepared to enhance oiling. These halves undergo careful machining and assembly within our state-of-the-art Haas VF-4SS CNC mill, meticulously tailored to accommodate the IAG Closed Deck Inserts, transforming the block into a robust deck. Featuring distinctive inserts with small passages facilitating essential coolant flow to the deck surface, the case halves undergo precise CNC machining, incorporating O-ring receiver grooves around the bore surface and being drilled and tapped to accommodate 1/2" head studs, significantly reducing risks of head gasket failure under high cylinder pressure conditions. Subsequently, the short block undergoes Deck Plate boring and honing to 86.1mm, leveraging our in-house Sunnen SV-30 cylinder hone, allowing IAG's proprietary honing process to establish tighter piston-to-wall clearances for smoother engine operation. Following meticulous measurement, assembly ensues utilizing a new 2020 Subaru 2.0L WRX crankshaft, meticulously matched to OEM or King main bearings. IAG-Spec H-Beam rods featuring ARP2000 rod bolts are deployed, alongside King or ACL rod bearings, with the case halves sealed utilizing new OEM case bolts and sealant. Ultimately, IAG-Spec 86.1mm forged pistons, complemented by an OEM oil plug, complete the short block assembly, culminating in uncompromising performance and reliability.

IMPROVED OIL PASSAGES FOR ENHANCED OILING

Sufficient oil flow is crucial for both performance and reliability. Recognizing the limitations of Subaru's OEM cases in terms of oiling efficiency, our team of machinists meticulously inspects and enhances the internal oil passages of each new OEM case utilized in the IAG 800 Short Block. This meticulous process ensures optimal oil flow, addressing any potential shortcomings and ultimately enhancing the engine's reliability and performance.

    DESIGNED FOR TURBOCHARGED PERFORMANCE

In the IAG 800 Short Block, you'll find the formidable IAG Spec JE FSR 86.1mm Forged Pistons. Crafted from 2618 T6 Alloy, these pistons are engineered to endure the heightened cylinder pressures associated with turbocharged applications. FSR forgings are adept at reducing mass and friction-induced wear while preserving strength, thanks to their asymmetrical skirt design. This innovative construction not only sheds weight but also maintains structural integrity. Smooth-flowing radii on the domes and dishes optimize flame propagation for superior combustion efficiency. To ensure secure attachment to the rods, the pistons utilize .905 x 2.250" x .210" wall carbon steel wrist pins, fortified with Tru Arc locks.
