DESIGNED FOR ENHANCED STRENGTH
Tailored for both stock and modified FA20 DIT Subaru WRXs, the IAG 600 Short Block is engineered to fortify the bottom end, accommodating elevated cylinder pressures induced by additional boost. Highlighting IAG Spec H-Beam forged connecting rods, this short block ensures heightened durability and resilience. Supported by upgraded connecting rods and race bearings, it adeptly manages augmented engine loads from larger turbochargers or increased boost levels, surpassing the reliability of OEM rods and pistons commonly found in stock short blocks.
CRAFTED WITH 100% NEW COMPONENTS
Each IAG 600 Short Block is crafted using exclusively new components, starting with pristine FA20 DIT Subaru 2.0L, 86mm stock bore engine case halves as the standard building blocks. These case halves undergo meticulous bore and hone processes, achieving precise measurements of 86.1mm, before being paired with a new 2015+ Subaru 2.0L FA20 crankshaft, perfectly matched with ACL or King race main bearings. The IAG 600 Short Block also integrates IAG Spec H-Beam Connecting Rods, fortified with ARP2000 rod bolts, in conjunction with ACL or King race rod bearings. Ensuring a secure seal, the case halves are assembled using new OEM main case bolts and sealant. Finally, the short block is finished with the installation of IAG Spec JE FSR 86.1mm Forged Pistons, meticulously chosen, measured, and installed to complete the construction process.
REVISED OIL PASSAGES FOR OPTIMIZED OILING
Effective oil flow is vital for engine performance and longevity. Acknowledging the shortcomings of Subaru's OEM cases in terms of oil distribution, our skilled machinists meticulously assess and refine the internal oil passages of each new OEM case utilized in the assembly of the IAG 600 Short Block. This thorough modification process ensures superior flow and heightened reliability, rectifying any deficiencies inherent in the original design.
FORGED PISTONS ENGINEERED FOR BOOST PERFORMANCE
In every IAG 600 Short Block, you'll discover the meticulously crafted IAG Spec JE FSR 86.1mm Forged Pistons, designed to withstand the rigors of increased boost pressure. Crafted from 2618 T6 Alloy, these high-strength pistons are specifically engineered to endure heightened cylinder pressures associated with turbocharging. Utilizing FSR forgings, they effectively reduce mass and frictional wear without compromising on durability. Their innovative asymmetrical skirt design not only significantly reduces weight but also promotes smoother combustion with its smooth flowing radii on the domes and dishes. Secured to the rods are .905 x 2.250" x .150" wall carbon steel wrist pins with Tru Arc locks, ensuring reliable piston-to-rod connection.
