This intercooler features TIG-welded cast and machined aluminum construction that promotes durability and longevity. The larger core size will increase the overall area surface coverage to increase the cooling capacity to reduce the chances of heat soak. You are limited by the OEM design especially if you have modifications that increase the power and boost levels. If you have modifications that surpass the limits of the OEM top mount setup, then you are also putting a limit on the performance potential of your modifications. The SubiSpeed unit is a direct drop-in core that will come ready to install that includes a machined flange for your BPV. The result is more power, with the cooling capacity needed to keep those intake charge temperatures cooler to maximize the performance potential out of your stock, or modified Subaru.
