After 100k miles my stock rear bushing was torn about 70% Installed these in addition to the STI rearend on my WRX. Now I know it wont tear and no slop in rear drivetrain. no feeling of any harshness or noise. takes a specific puller to reach in the tight area of the subframe
Replacement of stock factory Slop bushings is necessary for those in the 400+ power range, you will not be disappointed, and the drivetrain feels way more precise. Power to the ground ftw.
These work as advertised, and make a noticeable difference in drive line lash. However, be sure you are ordering the right kit! There are inserts that you can put in easily, and then there are these, which for me anyways, required dropping the entire subframe, and taking it to a machine shop with a bearing press to get the old ones out and the new ones in. Not worth the hassle. Next time I would just buy the inserts. This info is not apparent when you order. Heads up.
these bushing are MUCH stiffer than stock! i absolutely love them! compared to the stock ones(gum) these are better looking, stiffer, and allow for powa to go to the wheels instead of flexing like the stock ones do. p.s. i sudjest that if you are going to install these bushings you also do the subframe bushings, sway bars, and endlinks since you will need to remove those parts to put these bushing in. it will also help a ton and will probably save you 2-3 hours of work if you have a press! RSD's costumer service is unbeatable!

If I were to buy these bushings for my rear diff, would it be necessary/beneficial to buy the inserts as well to feel the difference?

A: Whiteline states the inserts are about 80% the stiffness of the full urethane replacements. The difference is there but not everyone would be able to tell.

Q: Pressing Dialos138 years ago
Just how hard are these to press out and in? I have access to an arbor press that can provide a substantial amount of force. Are there any other tools I would need to complete the process? Is there really that much difference between these and the inserts?

A: A press will help installation, all other tools are basic hand tools. Whiteline states the inserts are about 80% the stiffness of the full urethane replacements. The difference is there but not everyone would be able to tell.

Q: Would this benifit my car, and is it worth it? alienreptile9 years ago
Can an 08 impreza 2.5I 2.5L automatic sedan make clunking noise during a hard shift? Does this only apply to cars with throw shifters/manuals and/or cars with a lot of hp?

A: It is more common in Manual vehicles, but it can happen in your 2.5i model impreza as all bushings eventually break down.

A: The stock bushings will need to be pressed out which is why alot of guys will opt for the KDT903 kit which are the inserts and a bit easier to install.

Q: Need some help with bushing location Thank You! maxx wrx12 years ago
What is the difference between the rear diff positive power kit 'bushings' and the inserts? Do they go in different locations or do they work together? I can't tell from the diagram where each bushing is located and I'm new to subarus sorry.

A: The difference would be that this would completely replace the stock bushing, where the insert will just fill the voids in the OE bushing.
