Description

A wastegate especially an external wastegate is used to find and achieve precious boost levels.

The MV-R is the replacement for the popular V44 due to the V44 being discontinued.
The center lines and flanges are identical to the V44, making this a 100% replacement piece.

The Tial MVR Wastegate features:
  • Water cooling ports (not required to run) for those heavy-duty applications, three bottom pressure ports and two top ports for boost controllers like the AMS-1000.
  • High temp NiCrFe based alloy is used for valve and 347SS valve housing will offer longer product life compared to competing designs.
  • High-temperature silicone Nomex reinforced actuator diaphragm.
  • 17-7 PH Stainless Steel actuator spring gives a consistent pressure at high temperature, resist "relaxing" at a temperature to 900F (483C).
  • Nitronic 60 Stainless Steel is used for the valve seat, and valve bushing.
  • All Stainless Steel hardware.
  • Mating weld flanges are 304L

The Tial MV-R Wastegates now comes with all of the springs so you can tune it to your cars needs without spending money on extra springs.

Sometimes springs come pre-installed from Tial so you will want to verify the spring settings before installation.

I have this setup on my cobb catless up pipe with a invidia n1 race tbe. It make the car feel so much better when on the throttle and coming off. Plus is screams when in boost. After the pro tune I gained 10whp off my stock turbo. Now I know when i enter full boost there is no way boost creep will set in. I love it!

    Will be getting bigger tubro soon would it be okay to run a 44mm on a stock tubro 2011 sti with intake down pipe headers 1000cc feul pump Would like to know witch is best 38 or 44 want to know witch if the 44 would even work for the time being with stock tubro will get pro tune..??


    • A: The 38mm and 44mm are used for different applications. 38/40mm are good for - High boost - Low compression - Small displacement 44/45mm are good for - Low boost - High compression - Large displacement 38mm wastegates are more than sufficient for most Subaru builds. 44mm wastegates are generally too large and evacuate too much exhaust gas creating lag. The 38mm would be my recommendation.

    I have a pair of Tomei equal length headers that came with a proprietary uppipe and I was wondering if this woujld be compatible with my setup, and if not what do you recommend going with for an uppipe?


    • A: You will want to look into the GrimmSpeed uppipe as they make a 3 bolt uppipe to fit with this header which will allow you to do an external wastegate.

    So for each spring combo what would be an estimate cracking pressure? Ex. 10psi or 18.85psi combos.


    • A: The pressure at which the valve opens is going to be basically determined by your tuner. Whether you run a 10PSI or 12PSI spring setup if your tuner sets you up to run 20PSI then that is when the valve will crack open.
