This Turbo is a work of art, every thing is included and install is actually quite enjoyable. good instructions and good hardware. the only frustrating part is fitting the 90 degree bend onto the bottom of the intercooler. as far as performance goes it all comes down to how you are tuning it. my car is a 2006 JDM STI forester and it has the EJ255 i am using a Link G4+ ecu. the boost threshold is about 300rpm later than the standard turbo boost comes on smooth and hard and flows plenty of air all the way to the redline, definitely a pleasure to drive. Tomei have really got the power range perfect for these engines.

I see you're running a top mount intercooler, could you give me an estimate on how much power it put down. I'm sticking with a top mount intercooler but can't decide wether to get this turbo or the arms m7760.

Tomei quality is second to none! For bigger a stock-location turbo the 7960 packs a punch across the board all the way to redline! No lag! I also have a medley supporting mods- EL headers/up-pipe, full exhaust, TGV's, fuel pump, fuel kit, 1000cc injectors, EBCS, air/oil separator, bigger TMIC, pro-tune….HIGHLY recommend it if you cannot really afford a rotated kit.

Been running this turbo for over a year now, 2007 WRX Limited, this turbo is very high quality and pulls hard from the mid range on up. My torque number is slightly lower than whp numbers, but I am fine with that. Other than that, this is a fantastic all around powerful turbo.

I made a few changes to my configuration and this turbo is doing much better. Changes: - head gaskets, from 1.2mm to .78mm, now around 8.5:1 CR - TMIC, Process West - Turbo back exhaust (this shouldn't make much difference After another full tune I made 332WHP/337WTQ on a different dyno from my origional tune. However, I did get a baseling first before the retune on the new dyno, which ended up at 278WHP/265WTQ, so for the most part, I gained 54WHP/72WTQ and mostly due to the compression change. The bad, I still don't get full torque until 4500RPM, which is somewhat of a letdown considering an nice TD06/20G should be doing the same thing 700RPMs sooner with a larger compressor wheel than this turbo. It's a BLAST above 4500 RPMs, but that's not the power range I bought this turbo for. I give this review a 4 to offset the 2 I gave before to even out at a 3.

    Have Tomei released a compressor map for this turbo? What is this turbo designed to run as max boost or at what boost range is it most effecient? Would the STI 565cc injectors be enough for this turbo on a 2.0L?

    • A: Sorry but we do not have any additional hardware for this turbo that will allow more oil flow.

    Will this turbo bolt on with no problems or will I need tgv deletes?


    • A: We have found that due to the raised "Tomei" lettering on the turbo, it does make for a very snug fit and in most cases the OEM TGV Sensors are in the way and doing a TGV Delete would be necessary for this turbo.
