  • Q: Comparison with Tomei M7760  SN1 year ago

How do the spool times compare against the Tomei M7760? I’m shooting for a 320-330HP range on my 2005 WRX.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Tomei M7760 will spool a bit faster but not much. I would recommend going with one of the Blouch XT-R turbos, they are ball bearing and will spool faster than a journal bearing turbo. BLC TD05H-18GXTR8CM would be a great choice.

  • Q: Supporting mods   Kevin_sti2 years ago

What other supporting mods will I need to run this turbo safely if I already have a basic stage 3 set up?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Full exhaust, injectors, fuel pump, upgraded intercooler, aftermarket intake/inlet, TGV removal and a boost controller would be recommended.

  • Q: Blouch TD05H-18GXT 7cm V.S. Blouch TD05H-18GXT-R 8cm  MY MINIONS2 years ago

On average what is the difference in the rpm's when i am hitting full boost between these 2 turbos? Because one is a 7 cm journal bearing with Mitsubishi internals and the other is am 8 cm ball bearing turbo with Garrett internals do these 2 turbos spool at the same rate?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These turbos will have very similar spool times as the ball bearing will help spool at lower RPMS. The 18GXT-R will have a slightly better top end with a larger exhaust housing.

  • Q: Difference  04Forester3 years ago

Whats the difference from the Blouch TD05H-18GXT 7cm^2 Turbo and the Blouch TD05H-18GXT Billet Turbo 8cm^2?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The version with the 8cm^2 hotside will have better top end power at the expense of response. The smaller 7cm version will have better low end power.

  • Q: Comparison  Shawn Million4 years ago

I noticed that this and the TD05H-16GXT are the same size but about 300$ different. I was wondering why? This one is a 18GXT and the other is a 16GXT, I was just wondering if it would be worth investing the extra 300$ for this turbo over the 16GXT. Goals are no were over 350HP
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The difference between these 2 turbos is going to be the wheel itself. If you are looking for 350 and below, I would recommend the 16GXT-R.

  • Q: will it fit?  PepperYourAngus5 years ago

Will this turbo fit with the oem 06 WRX turbo piping? Or will i need to buy a kit?. Also would 300-330whp be a good goal with this turbo and supporting mods for my 06 WRX??
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This turbo will fit with the stock turbo components and no other hardware is required in order to bolt this on. 300-330 whp is a very realistic goal with this turbo on pump gas.

  • Q: Will it reach my target?  Magnet5 years ago

I am looking to get around 360-380 WHP on pump gas on my ej207. Is this the right turbo for me?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This turbo would be stressed out at that power level as it would be over-spun to try and hit that power goal. For that power range you are better off with a 20G.

  • Q: turbo replacement  wesbrownknows065 years ago

Minus tuning will this turbo require anything for factory replacement? I have a 06 sti. Stage 2 cobb ots map with supporting mods.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You would need larger injectors, larger fuel pump, upgraded turbo inlet, and most likely an upgraded boost solenoid to go along with your custom tune.

  • Q: turbo psi limitations  nolswe3135 years ago

Whats the max psi this turbo can handle?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  On pump fuel this turbo can typically do 18-24psi with the proper supporting modifications. On e85 or race fuel Blouch has seen as high as 28-30psi without issues.

  • Q: turbo and trans  03quickRex5 years ago

How much power with supporting mods will this turbo make to the ground also wat is the most power will a 5sp trans take before I run into issues
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Blouch rates this turbo at 430hp at the crank, WHP will depend on your tune, fuel, elevation, and some several other factors. As for the transmission, that will depend on how you drive the car. Anywhere from stock to 400WHP has been seen, but if you drive your car like you stole it done expect it to hold much more then stage2.

Do I have to upgrade piston n rod to run this turbo
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  In order to get the full potential from this turbo I recommend upgrading the pistons, but with a safe and convservative tune you can use the stock pistons.

  • Q: 2009+ Forester XT Fitment?  superacerc705856 years ago

Will this fit the 09+ Forester XT?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This turbo will not fit an 09+ FXT with your factory intercooler setup. You can get this turbo to work great if you use our Process West 09+ FXT TMIC and traditional style turbo hose conversion.

  • Q: 08 wrx  Nickhedrick1438187 years ago

What will I need to get to bolt this onto my 08wrx sedan?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is an OEM upgrade so it will bolt right on. We recommend larger injectors, fuel pump, intercooler and tune to safely and effectively run this turbo on your 08 WRX. Also keep in mind that this turbo uses a conventional outlet on the compressor side, so you would need to get either a Process West Top mount with the adapter hose or a front mount intercooler.

  • Q: 2006 WRX-modified heads  TurboFreak.com7 years ago

Is this bolt on with no modifications? How fast is spool expected to be on 2.5? If this unit does not come with new oil banjo bolt, I will be installing this with the stock oil inlet banjo bolt which has a fairly small hole for oil flow. What size oil hole should I drill in the bolt? Thanks, Chris
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This turbo is an OEM upgrade and will bolt right on.
