    Arrived on time. 3 hour install. Dont forget to get gaskets for up pipe and down pipe.

    Upgraded my 2008 WRX. I have to say, I'm a very happy customer. I can tell that I've lost some low end power, but after 3000 rpms, it's no contest. Wish I had done it sooner.

    I installed this to replace my VF40 turbo on my 05 outback XT... it was straight forward as expected. The change in wastegate orientation required some trimming of the heat shield. A quick retune due to differing turbo spool and a new boost control and up-pipe got me back up and running quick. I did some quick dyno pulls and was able to pull similar numbers at 10.5lbs of boost on the VF52 as when I ran 14lbs of boost on my VF40. I will turn it back up when I have more time to tune and get new injectors and fuel pump.

      It is stated that a new banjo bolt screen is recommended, but why recommend a part that’s prone to causing turbo failure? As mentioned in plenty of forums on how to lengthen the life of a turboed subaru.. instructions warn about the hazardous banjo screen.

        A:  We recommend a new banjo screen as old screens can become clogged and lead to oil flow restrictions.

        A:  It would not fit without several modifications. The VF52 is designed for the 08-14 WRX/ Legacy GT style top mount.

        A:  2008-2014 WRX models have a different turbo flange design and would require a few different modifications in order to bolt a VF style turbo . Also, tuning would be required whenever changing the turbo.
