The Blouch TD05H-18GXT is a perfect turbo for someone looking to have a turbo that will spool a touch later than a stock turbo but wanting to receive the benefits of the quick response of the TD05H turbine and efficiency of a 18G compressor wheel, with the both of these it would be perfect for someone looking for about 400 HP on their vehicle. 

This turbocharger features the custom Blouch turbo compressor housing that has improved fitment that has been custom CNC machined at Blouch for the new 18G-XT aero. The wheel has also been closed die forged with a fully machined billet 18G-XT compressor wheel that is lighter and stronger with a better flow rate. Other features include a water-cooled journal bearing center housing with a custom high-flow low inertia TS05H turbine wheel. This particular turbocharger will come with the 8cm2 turbine housing.

This turbocharger will come with both coolant and oil drain pipes, as well as a new up pipe, and downpipe gasket to make it ready for the installation.

Installed this turbo after my OEM unit took a crap. Installed it on my Forester XT without issue I would recommend aftermarket hoses because the outlet of the the compressor side is not polished and is difficult to install the OEM intercooler hose on it. Otherwise, great turbo. I have been running the Cobb economy tune because of not having the accompanying add-ons. A++++++

if you are looking to boost up your car a lot, get this turbo! i have this turbo, 850cc, front mount, 3port ebcs, straight pipe, bigger up-pipe, and i got a protune. i got 370 awhp and 405 wheel torque. my tuner said that this turbo has so much more potential, I just did this much because i didnt want to blow my tranny pulling out of my tuner. but damn this turbo is awesome

I haven't run this turbo yet, still in the building stage, but this is a great looking turbo. The quality in this turbo looks top notch. I plan on bolting the waste gate closed and running a EWG. I was pleased to see the turbo was either painted black or ceramic coated black when I got it, was not expecting that. A great bonus.

Ecellent once you get it to fit. 7 years ago
Good quality with a nice and smooth power delivery, I got 225lb/ft and 330hp at 15.5psi at the wheels. Bad fitment, the coolant inlet pipe had to be turned and bent to avoid being crushed against the engine. I was too careful and did not tighten the coolant banjo bolt enough so I had to find a leak. With the 8-cm hot side it is a top end “highway” turbo on a 2.5l WRX, results may be different on an STI. With my limited boost requirements a 7-cm hot side would have been fine for quicker spool and similar power, possibly at a higher psi. I like the “careful” way the boost happens and the top end that makes 6500-RPM worth visiting when someone thinks they are faster on an open stretch of road.

    I have a brand new OEM 2005 Subaru STi short block in my car. The motor has currently just about 7,000 miles on it. What I'm wondering is if this turbo is safe to run on my stock internals? Or just stock internals in general. If it is what boost etc and whats the reliability.

      A:  Good morning Chris! So for this turbo it would be safe to run on stock internals if you have the supporting mods needed like fuel injectors and pump. As far as boost levels and reliability, that always is dependant on the tune itself. Those kinds of questions would be for the tuner more so than us.     I'm currently running a vf39, elh headers, ewg, sti tmic, intake, inlet hose, full catless exhaust, 255 fuel pump, and id1000cc injectors. Do you think I would need to upgrade to a larger tmic or will the sti one be capable?

      A:  Upgrading your intercooler would definitely be beneficial with this turbo, but not absolutely required.
