Features & Product Details

When it comes to aftermarket turbochargers for this particular platform, Blouch Performance Turbo is among one of the more popular choices among enthusiasts because they are built using careful manufacturing methods to produce a more powerful direct bolt-in option. On this page, you are looking at their TD05H-18GXT 7cm2 turbocharger.

Investing in a larger turbo as well as supporting mods is one of the best power upgrades you could buy. Blouch is the leader in turbo development; they consistently build the best turbos. This is a perfect turbo for your 400 HP WRX or STI. The new XT line of turbos from Blouch consists of a billet compressor wheel to optimize the aerodynamics of a turbo and increase compressor flow within the same inducer geometry.

The TD05H-18GXT features the 40 lb/min performance of the Mitsubishi TD06 18G compressor wheel combined with the quick response of the TD05H turbine wheel. To maximize compressor efficiency, the WRX/STi TD05H-18GXT 7cm2 utilizes a true TD06 compressor housing with custom actuator mounting in place of the TD05 housing. Standard wastegate actuator is calibrated at 9 PSI.

To maintain proper boost control, the TD05H-18GXT utilizes a ported turbine housing that is included in the price of the turbo. Like all of Blouch's WRX/STi bolt on upgrades, the TD05H-18GXT is shipped complete with coolant pipes and turbo oil drain tube installed to simplify installation.

Love it 5 years ago
Turbo was a great match for my stock ej205. Pulls hard all the way to recline. Tuned for 19.5 lbs and doesn't taper. Not as laggy as I thought it would be, make full boost by 3800 rpm. Only issue I had was the nipple on the compressor housing for my boost control would touch my process west top mount. Was simple fix though, just put 4 washers under the passenger side of the ic and pushed intercooler back a bit and clears fine.

  • Q: Comparison with Tomei M7760  SN10 months ago

How do the spool times compare against the Tomei M7760? I’m shooting for a 320-330HP range on my 2005 WRX.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Tomei M7760 will spool a bit faster but not much. I would recommend going with one of the Blouch XT-R turbos, they are ball bearing and will spool faster than a journal bearing turbo. BLC TD05H-18GXTR8CM would be a great choice.

  • Q: Supporting mods   Kevin_sti1 year ago

What other supporting mods will I need to run this turbo safely if I already have a basic stage 3 set up?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Full exhaust, injectors, fuel pump, upgraded intercooler, aftermarket intake/inlet, TGV removal and a boost controller would be recommended.

  • Q: Blouch TD05H-18GXT 7cm V.S. Blouch TD05H-18GXT-R 8cm  MY MINIONS2 years ago

On average what is the difference in the rpm's when i am hitting full boost between these 2 turbos? Because one is a 7 cm journal bearing with Mitsubishi internals and the other is am 8 cm ball bearing turbo with Garrett internals do these 2 turbos spool at the same rate?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These turbos will have very similar spool times as the ball bearing will help spool at lower RPMS. The 18GXT-R will have a slightly better top end with a larger exhaust housing.

  • Q: Difference  04Forester3 years ago

Whats the difference from the Blouch TD05H-18GXT 7cm^2 Turbo and the Blouch TD05H-18GXT Billet Turbo 8cm^2?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The version with the 8cm^2 hotside will have better top end power at the expense of response. The smaller 7cm version will have better low end power.
