Features & Product Details

When it comes to aftermarket turbochargers for this particular platform, Blouch Performance Turbo is among one of the more popular choices among enthusiasts because they are built using careful manufacturing methods to produce a more powerful direct bolt-in option. On this page, you are looking at their Dominator 2.5 XT-R 8cm2 Turbocharger.

Investing in a larger turbo as well as supporting mods is one of the best power upgrades you could buy. Blouch is the leader in turbo development; they consistently build the best turbos. The new XT-R line of turbos from Blouch consists of a billet compressor wheel to optimize the aerodynamics of a turbo and increase compressor flow within the same inducer geometry.

The features of this turbocharger allows you to build more horsepower at lower boost pressure. Other features include a 55 lb/min fully machined billet compressor wheel, a high-efficiency Garrett GT turbine wheel, Garrett GT full ball bearing system, and an adjustable upgrade wastegate actuator that is calibrated at 15 PSI with their new 8cm2 bolt on turbine housing.

Rated to make up to 490 crank horsepower.

Included with this turbocharger will be the coolant and oil drain pipes, along with a stainless steel oil feed line along with new gaskets and hardware to make this turbocharger ready for the installation.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: Break-in  kiiiiim5 months ago

Does this turbo need a break-in before tuning or can the car be tuned right after installation of this turbo? Thanks!
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These do not require a break in period, but make sure to prime the turbo before running the vehicle.

  • Q: Header  09Jorge8 months ago

Would I need an after market header to run this turbo?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will work with stock manifolds or aftermarket headers, as long as they retain the stock turbo location.

  • Q: Banjo bolt  Kaledoherty851 year ago

I am looking st buying this turbo. But do I need to purchase a banjo bolt for the oil feed lines? I havnt seen any mention of it on here. Or is there a different method to this?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will reuse the banjo bolts for this turbo, though most people end up replacing them upon installation.

A:  Tyler I have done more research and apparently won't use the banjo. But there is a restrictor fitting that comes with this kit?

  • Q: 1.5 vs 2.5  travelguy2k1 year ago

How would a 2.5 with an 8cm compare to a 1.5 with a 10cm compare for spool time and flow?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The 2.5 is definitely going to be slower compared to the 1.5. Flow wise though you are going to improve the power band and you are going to be able to achieve higher numbers with the 2.5. It all just comes down to whether or not you want big power with a little slower spool time, or more of an instant feel with less HP.

A:  I have 3.5xtr with a 10cm hot side. I am trying to downsize without loosing much power but have less lag. Im at 410/415 right now. Trying to find out if a 2.5xtr with a 3" inlet and a 8cm hot side exists, this might be the best of both words. the difference between the 1.5 and the 2.5 is only 10hp but if the spool is that much different i might be inclined to go with the 1.5.

  • Q: Ceramic coating  The Autobahn2 years ago

Is a caramic coated Turbine housing available? When will be the new design Compressor housing available?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You can have ceramic housing if you were to pay the extra fee from Blouch, and Blouch hasn't released an updated compressor housing for this turbo. So I am sorry I am not sure when they plan to update this.
