Description

When it comes to aftermarket turbochargers for this particular platform, Blouch Performance Turbo is among one of the more popular choices among enthusiasts because they are built using careful manufacturing methods to produce a more powerful direct bolt-in option. On this page, you are looking at their Blouch Dominator 1.5XT-R 10cm2 Ceramic Coated Turbocharger.

Investing in a larger turbo as well as supporting mods is one of the best power upgrades you could buy. Blouch is the leader in turbo development; they consistently build the best turbos. The new XT-R line of turbos from Blouch consists of a billet compressor wheel to optimize the aerodynamics of a turbo and increase compressor flow within the same inducer geometry.

All of this combined with Garrett GT turbine and full ball bearing technology to produce a complete bolt-on package that includes stainless steel turbo oil feed line and steel oil drain tube and coolant lines. Adjustable upgrade actuator is standard issue on the 1.5XT-R and is pre-calibrated to operate at 15 PSI unless otherwise specified. The 1.5XT-R has a 56mm turbine to promote better spool up and a better overall turbo. Rated for 480 HP with supporting modifications.

Note that this particular turbocharger will come with a ceramic coated exhaust housing for extra protection against heat and corrosion, and it will also come supplied with both coolant and oil drain pipes already installed. Additionally, an oil feed line, new hardware, as well as a new downpipe and up pipe gasket will be included to make this turbocharger ready for the installation.

Great stock location turbo upgrade! 375whp/363tq on CA91
zzyzx85 1 year ago
When I started planning out my build, I didn't want to sacrifice driveability for max power. I track my car, as well as cruise in the mountains, so I appreciate a linear powerband. I also use my STI as a daily driver so I didn't want a car that felt flatfooted in city driving. After some research, I decided the Blouch Dominator 1.5XT-R was the right turbo I was looking for. Paired up with GSC S1 cams, ID1000 injectors, a Perrin 3" inlet, Tomei EL headers (as well as other supporting mods), I was able to net 375 whp and 363 lb-ft on CA 91 gas with a very linear and broad powerband that climbs all the way to the 7000 rpm redline and spools up quick! Can't go wrong with Blouch for a stock location turbo!

1.5 xtr built motor 93 pump 21.5 psi 10cm Mustang dyno

Made 386/361 ....add 10-15% for dyno jet numbers and another 10% on either for E85 tune Great street turbo spools great and holds well up top.....my car is setup for larger turbo (S2 cams heads ported 3 angle valve job beehive springs) which is why torque is slightly down Also have CF driveshaft, large Tmic, tgv deletes and turbo has 3" inlet.......this is a great stock location small turbo! I wouldn't hesitate using it on stock block at 350/360 MD ish power....not a 400whp turbo unless e85 and or higher reading dyno lol.......my guess is about 415 on E85 my setup Mustang dyno.....which would be great but my block is setup for 600whp so next spring will be version 2.0

Fantastic Turbo 2011 STI
dgillett421520963 3 years ago
This turbo pulls hard all the way to redline.. With the supporting mods this turbo can easily do 500whp. I have 1100 cc injectors, 3in intake, 3in turbo back exhaust, 6 puck clutch, TGV deletes, front mount intercooler. I still have stock internals in my block so my tuner has "turned down" the potential of this turbo as to not break the block, in the future I will run a built block. On a Mustang Dyno with E85 376 whp and 351 torque, this is with the "Heartbreaker Dyno". The spool comes on a tad bit later than the stock turbo but when it does hold on.... I would highly recommend this turbo with the 3in inlet.

I wouldn't say easily do 500whp... I had the Blouch 3.0 XTR 10cm with 3 inch inlet running a fully built block, E85, 1000cc injectors etc etc... and at 27PSI I hit 504WHP and 478 torque. If you want 400+ WHP I'd suggest another turbo unless you have CAMS too.

  • Q: Aftermarket TMIC vs Aftermarket FMIC  Brasso 4 months ago

    Answer

Hey RSD, first of all, love the site and all that you do. Currently, only a Cobb SF intake and turboback are on my 2015 STI. I'm contemplating getting this turbo in combination with ID 1050X injectors, IAG fuel rails and lines, an AEM 320 pump, and TGV deletes. I know I'm right on the edge of needing something more than the stock TMIC. Would it be a waste to go aftermarket FMIC? Should I just go with an aftermarket TMIC? Could use some advice.

    • A: I'd recommend Grimmspeed's TMIC for your setup. It flows more than enough air for this turbo, but would not come with the added lag that front mounts can cause.

  • Q: oil feed line: WRX or STI?  zzyzx85 2 years ago

    Answer

Is the included feed line for WRX or STI? Is there a difference between the two?

    • A: This feed line will work on some of the WRX's and STi's. If this turbo is confirmed for your car, the feed line will work.

  • Q: TGV deletes?  Mathias 3 years ago

    Answer

Would this turbo install require TGV deletes?

    • A: Most 3 inch turbo inlet hoses require TGV deletes, and whether deletes are required or not depends on which inlet hose you use.

  • Q: Spool time  Mathias 3 years ago

    Answer

Between the 10cm and the 8cm, which would spool up quicker and have closer to stock spool characteristics?

    • A: An 8cm housing will spool quicker because there is less volume for the exhaust to fill.

  • Q: Oil feed  Boxercide 4 years ago

    Answer

Does this come with the oil feed line?

    • A: An oil feed line is included with this turbo.
