  • Q: Turbo fitment w blouch 1.5xtr 8cm  BlackBeth3 months ago

I have an 05 wrx with a vf39 turbo and the engine has been built from the block up. Currently running on 93 close to 340 hp. Wanting to put the xtr on my wrx. Will it direct fit? I already have upgraded intercooler, wastegate, and down pipe etc.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You bet, this will be a direct bolt on and includes everything needed for the install. If you don't already have a turbo inlet hose, I might recommend that when installing this turbo but it is not a requirement. Then of course you will need larger injectors, fuel pump and a tune but I assume you already knew that :)

  • Q: Wastegate Plunger/Diophrame.  YoshiSTi8 months ago

My tuner said the wastegate isn’t opening enough and I checked the lines and they’re all fine. I can’t open the plunger with force by hand. I was wondering how much pressure does the wastegate diophrame need to open or is it suppose to be that tight/hard to open?
  • Q: different versions?  scott.dl708108 months ago

Has Blouch revised their Dom 1.5 XTR design over the years? The one I have looks slightly different than the one pictured. Installing a used Blouch Dom 1.5 XTR (the silver looking one, 2.4 in inlet, 8cm2) in an '05 Legacy GT over the weekend and running into some fitment issues. Wondering if I have an old version, just unlucky or if everyone runs into this? 1) Wastegate touches the factory oil line. I bent the line slightly, was nervous doing that since I just removed the intake manifold and crossover water pipe to replace it. 2) Compressor outlet is basically against the PCV drain tube 3) Compressor inlet is behind the TGV housing (I've removed the TGVs). I had to remove the intake manifold and power steering and squish the snorkel to get it on. Even now it seems to slowly slide itself off even when tight. 4) One uppipe bolt is under the water line, so I had to remove the water line to put it on. I dropped half a dozen copper washers into the engine bay. 5) Wastegate line is pointed down towards the uppipe, not a huge deal, but crappy to put the line on.

A:  To the extent of my knowledge these turbos have not under gone in major changes in recent years. You may have an older version and as far as fitment issues it is hard to say what could be causing the issue since I am not there to see it. I would recommend taking it to your local tuner to see what can be done.

  • Q: What do i need  nathen2 years ago

Besides bigger injectors and a better fuel pump, what else shpuld i get to put this turbo on my 04 sti? Im working on a process west top mount also.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I would look at upgrading the up and down pipes, catback, upgrade the blow off/recirc valve. You are going to need a pro tune.

  • Q: blouch dom 1.5xt-3  Johnny3 years ago

    1. Do you need to do TGV delete to fit this turbo 2. Is the compressor Inlet 3 inch?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You do not NEED TGV deletes with this however, it would make a big difference in air flow. The inlet size on this turbo is OEM and not 3.

  • Q: Blouch Dom 1.5 XT-R  2016 STi3 years ago

What kind of numbers with all the supporting mods can be expected from this turbo running E85 on my 16' STi? I have a full exhaust from the engine back already, flex fuel package, intake with turbo inlet, 1050 cc injectors, 425 lph fuel pump, Front mount intercooler, TGV deletes, and maybe some more I am forgetting at the moment.
  • Q: Turbo pressure  Bencwj4 years ago

How high can this turbo boost? Is 2.0 bar possible?
  • Q: 08 WRX  LGJamesx4 years ago

What would I need to make this fit my 08 wrx?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will not be a direct fit for 08+ WRX. In order to run this turbo on your car, you would need to buy the Process West Verticooler and also purchase the Traditional Turbo Upgrade Hose for the Verticooler. These parts will allow you to run STI fitment turbos.

Do I need to reference if I have a wrx to get the right oil feed line?
  • Q: spark plugs?  ralphwillkom263725 years ago

I plan on upgrading to this turbo, at this point would you recommend getting one step colder spark plugs?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  General rule of thumb for spark plugs is one step colder for every 100 whp more than stock. One step colder spark plugs would be recommended with this turbo, but we do recommend checking with your tuner before going with colder spark plugs.

  • Q: Turbo Blanket fitment  lacroixj10790886188 years ago

What size is this turbo when considering turbo blanket fitment? The turbo blanket I'm looking at mentions VF series, GTxx, Txx, etc. Thanks
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I believe the T3 turbo blanket will be the best fitment with this turbo, but we have not tested it and we cannot guarantee fitment at this time.

  • Q: turbo to down-pipe  deckenrodeii9 years ago

Is the Invidia divorced wastegate downpipe a direct bolt on to this turbo?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Yes, the Invidia divorced wastegate downpipe will bolt right up to this turbo, without any issues at all. This Turbo is an OEM replacement item, as is the Invidia V3 downpipe, so both will fit just like stock.
