Hey guys, Is GEN 2 ball bearing turbo? Can I use GFB 44mm EWG on this turbo?
  • Q: Rotated setup  Ianplatt83675841 year ago

Could you run this turbo rotated? Like bolted to for example the Perrin rotated turbo kit?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Technically it can be used as a rotated turbo, but would require modification to the exhaust system. The PERRIN rotated kit will not work.

  • Q: Turbo   Tbrimmer 1 year ago

What makes this unable to fit on a 12 wrx.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The turbo outlet on the 08-14 WRXs are different. Also, the stock intake manifold will not allow room for this turbo. Because of these reasons, this turbo is not technically confirmed to fit your car. Of course, with the required modifications, you can get this turbo to fit.

A:  So i would be able to run this with a front mount intercooler set up then. Do you know what about the intake manifold makes it unable to fit. I was going to be running tgv deletes if that makes a difference.

  • Q: Turbo  ShaunCorbett4 years ago

You can use any after market down pipes with this right? Doesn't need to have a EWG break off because the EWG is already on the turbo? Also are any after market TGV deletes needed?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is an OEM location turbo, so any OEM location downpipe will this. The wastegate is setup right off the turbo and you won't need anything else other than a dump tube, and TGV deletes would be recommended for this turbo since it is capable of 600hp.

  • Q: 2017 STI   Kevin4 years ago

Also, what else would i need to meet the max power out of this?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will need an external wastegate uppipe and wastegate, turboback exhaust, intake, larger intercooler, upgraded injectors and fuel pump, tgv deletes, a built motor, and an upgraded clutch. There are some supplementary parts available, but they are not required.

  • Q: Power out of box  Kevin4 years ago

I will be getting a 2017 Subaru WRX STI Base, and was wondering what the power increase would be right out of the box and can i use a cobb access port to tune it? i am a car noob at this.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I am not able to determine an exact power increase for the new STi's, but it would be a substantial increase. The tune would require more than just an Accessport, it would need a custom tune and quite a few other parts. I would recommend a smaller turbo for your vehicle.

  • Q: Fitment on 2011 STI with FMIC and Rotated Kit  KingKhan4 years ago

Will this turbo work with a Perrin Rotated Turbo Kit for the 2011 STI with the Perrin FMIC Kit as well?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will not work with a rotated kit, this turbo is designed to be used in the stock location and the flanges are different for rotated kits.

  • Q: EWG  tahn875 years ago

If there is flange for EWG on the turbo itself, do I still need EWG on the up pipe? what is the major difference between having EWG on the turbo or on the up pipe?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The EWG port is on the exhaust housing of the turbocharger. This simplifies the setup not requiring an uppipe although in some cases unwanted turbulences may be seen the closer the port is to the turbine.

A:  So it's better to have an EWG on up-pipe and not on the turbo housing itself?

  • Q: injectors  Johnny D5 years ago

what kind of fuel injectors, and pump should work with this turbo?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will want to use 1000cc or larger injectors to get the full potential from this turbo on pump gas. A 255lph pump will support up to 1000cc injectors and if you use larger injectors, then you will also want a larger pump.

  • Q: whp  tempemail55c4f5becaae52c4048b77f45 years ago

will this turbo put out 550whp with the right fuel management and a built motor? if so, what size injectors and fuel pump do you recommend?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We do not believe that you would be able to get to that mark with this turbo. Even with an E85 tune or water/meth, this turbo would not be able to flow quite enough for the 550whp mark. For injectors, at minimum, we recommend 2000cc and you will need at least a 400lph pump.
