  • Q: GTX3071R specs  Chuck1 year ago

Please tell me about the turbine: what are the inducer and exducer dimensions? What is the housing A/R, and what is the turbine's alloy? Has the hot side housing been smoothed of casting imperfections? Are there variations offered for the above? Thanks!

  • Q: compressor boost nipple  Josf3 years ago

Since this turbo doesn't have the compressor boost nipple, where do you connect the wastegate t-tubing to? do we need to drill the compressor and add a separate nipple. the vf turbos, blouch and others have the compressor nipple. thanks!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  No need to drill. The kit is provided with a quick tap and silicone elbow. The quick tap will be installed onto the elbow and will be your boost source.

Give the waste gate flapper setup, will there be an issue with the grimmspeed downpipe?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We cannot confirm this turbo to work with a divorced downpipe, it is recommended to use a bellmouth downpipe.

  • Q: Supporting mods  Neonducky4 years ago

What supporting mods would you recommend for 07 WRX? Which fuel pump, injectors extra.
  • Q: Uppipe riser plate  ThatBoxerGrowl5 years ago

Is that uppipe riser plate required to mount this turbo? If so, can I purchase one separately?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The uppipe to turbo spacer is not always required, and it is only used if the compressor housing is contacting the block. We may be able to order the spacer separately, and we recommend setting the turbo in place so you know if you need it or not. If you need the spacer, then please contact customer service.

  • Q: oil feed line  Derkahn5 years ago

HI- I can see that it includes an oil feed line with the turbo.. w/ banjo fittings etc. Do these turbocharger oil supply mesh filter screens in this kit address the oil starvation/clogging concern w/ the oem lines/mesh fittings? do you suggest an inline oil filter for this turbo as well? Thanks!
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The banjo bolt in this turbo kit does not have a screen built in and we do not recommend using an inline filter.

  • Q: For 2007 Forester XT/AT ?  JerryChan6 years ago

Is it suitable for 2007 Forester XT with AT transmission ? And I am also concern the spool up RPM if it have to much turbo lag compare with stock turbo.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will work for that car with all of the correct supporting mods. In regards to spool time, this will be significantly later than your OEM set up.

  • Q: up-pipe up-grade?  chunk08066 years ago

I know that going bigger is always better but with this being a stock location turbo will the stock up-pipe warrant enough airflow for say 400whp? *doing a full build down the road and do not currently need massive power. I figure it will give me sufficient spool times right now and plenty of room to grow once I'm done with my build. Just something to keep me occupied until I can build a new bottom end. **planning on going E85 when I put this turbo on.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We would HIGHLY recommend upgrading the uppipe if you're going to go with this turbo to prevent any damages.

can I use a Grimmspeed heat shield or turbo blanket with this turbo?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We have not tested that exact set up, but from our experience that heatshield will fit with almost any brand stock location internal wasteage turbo.

  • Q: 550Hp  7 years ago

I have a full turbo back, equal length headers, TGV delete, K&N Intake, forged pistons and connecting rods. I wish to keep a TMIC (Process West). With proper injectors, Boost Control Relay, heat wraps, and more, will this turbo allow me to achieve 550Hp? I want as much as possible OEM spool (response). This will be a street car running 94 octane fuel. Also, what difference will I feel with an external wastegate vs internal? What additional pieces will I require for external? Thanks
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This turbo is not able to produce enough air flow to output the 550WHP that you want. On a 2.5L STi you can expect to see low to mid 400WHP out of this turbo on a Mustang dyno with out over stressing the turbo. We did a review of the 3076 unit on our shop STi, which should provice you with some info. http://theattack.rallysportdirect.com/2012/05/rallysport-direct-gtx3076-2011-sti For more specific questions, contact us via chat, phone or email for better assistance pertaining directly to your build.

  • Q: 2011 Wrx  limpertp605577 years ago

Would this turbo bolt right in to the stock location? I see it is bolt on for the 08+ STI's why is it not bolt on for the WRX?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  In 2008 the mounting location of the turbocharger in WRX models was reconfigured and no longer matches the traditional mount style. This turbocharger will not be a direct fit, although Process West makes an adapter hose (PRW PWSH001) that allows you to run traditional mount turbos if you have a Process West top mount.

  • Q: 2012 subaru sti  Ryan / Teo7 years ago

can i run this turbo with less than 45o horse?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You can run the turbo on lower boost levels to restrict the power output but if you want less power you are better off going with a slightly smaller turbo that will give you the power you want and will most likely spool faster.

i want to get this turBO but i have this exhaust.Invidia Downpipe Catted Divorced Wastegate and Invidia G200 Cat Back Exhaust Titanium Tip on 2007 Subaru WRX tr. what exhaust system do i have to get for this turbo
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This turbo will work with your exhaust. You might just need to cut the divider out of your downpipe to allow for the WG flapper clearance

  • Q: inlet pipe  Andy.7 years ago

what inlet pipe,& CAI do you recomend for this turbo?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I highly recommend a 3 inch turbo inlet from a reputable company and there are quite a few intakes that will work well. As long as the inlet and intake are high quality, then they will work well with this turbo.

  • Q: After Effects  sk8brdrcm075828 years ago

Without other engine modifications can i expect to get faster engine wear using this turbo? i currently am running 91 Oct 255 fuel pump 1000cc injectors with an AMR intercooler full Invidia turbo back exhaust. I feel like a bigger turbo is the only way to get really get more gains out of my 08 sti?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The rate of wear on the motor will depend almost as much on you as the owner as it does for how much power you push out of the car. Proper warm up, cool down, and general maintenance will have effect on that. We suggest for ta turbo this size to also get a upgraded inlet, TGV deletes, and headers on top of your current mod list to take advantage of its spool up potential and flow. However we careful as this turbo is big enough that it can produce more power then your motor can hold.

  • Q: injector size  Peter Gubo8 years ago

Hello, what injector size do you recomend for this turbo, to be able to get the maximum boost out of the turbo? thanks
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  That would depend on the Fuel your planning on using. For E85 you would need 2000cc, where for conventional petroleum based fuels 1000cc should cover it

In which case should we use the spacer that came with the turbo?
    • 2 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The spacer is only necessary if you are having clearance issues and need extra room between the block and the turbo.

  • Q: Supporting Mods  jason.c.hall561668 years ago

Hello, I wanted to know what supporting mods I would need torun this turbo? I am currently running 750cc injectors and 255 fuel pump for my TD06 18g with stock STI intercooler. Thanks.
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Depends on how much boost you're planning to run, type of fuel, etc. But 750cc would suffice for a low boost application however larger injectors are recommended.
