  • Q: up pipe   mikey12 months ago

Hi, will this up pipe work with the afe power EL headers that i had on my sit 15+ with a stock turbo ?
  • Q: performance   billyjones1 year ago

is this compatible with stock headers and turbo? will using this be of equal performance as the smaller uppipe?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You'll risk blowing gaskets and having a massive exhaust leak. I would recommend either getting the whole system or purchasing a different up-pipe.

I have stock turbo... Planning to install Tomei Unequal exhaust manifold and with this perrin big tube uppipe... is it compatible? no other additional item?
  • Q: Upgraded Turbo, but stock exhaust manifold.  Ray3 years ago

Hello, I just wanted to ask something. I have stock headers(exhaust manifold) but an upgraded turbo (TD05-20G). 2007 STi. EJ257. My question is that if I upgrade my up-pipe with this Perrin big tube up-pipe, will I suffer leak or lag or anything? or will it decrease lag and enhance spool? Thank you.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You run the risk of blowing out a gasket when not running the Perrin Big Tube Header. As far as spool time, any aftermarket Uppipe that flows better than OEM will give you better spool time.

  • Q: Stock exhaust manifold, STi VF turbo  Seanharrisjah434694 years ago

I have stock exhaust manifold, and a VF 48 STi turbo im about to put on. Would i need the 1.75 up pipe? or the 2 up pipe? one is for stock manifold, and one is for upgraded turbo. I have both, which up pipe should i use? or will i need headers if i am upgrading my turbo?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You could use either uppipe, but we recommend the standard uppipe for your setup. The Big Tube uppipe is recommended for the Perrin Big Tube headers and a large turbo that requires a lot of extra flow.

  • Q: Exhaust sound  teds-rex(old)4 years ago

On an STi which already has the catless uppipe, will this change the exhaust note or loudness at all?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Uppipes generally do not change the sound or volume of the exhaust, but you may notice a faintly deeper tone.

Will this be compatible with the GT3076R turbo?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This uppipe will work with the GT3076R as long as the turbo designed as an OEM drop in, or works with the OEM uppipe. Thanks.

  • Q: fitment with stock turbo  Askoor STI5 years ago

    1. Is it fine to use this pipe with stock turbo, perrin CAI and perrin ELH? Or is it better to go with the smaller up pipe? 2. Is there any added value from this pipe (hp or torque) by running the up pipe with headers or the headers is just enough? 3. What additional materials that helps in improving performance and fitment of this up pipe (gaskets, blankets, etc.) If there are any, can you please mention the part numbers? 4. Can I still use turbo heat shield after installing up pipe or headers? Thank you
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You can use this for stock turbo, but it is recommended for higher hp applications. When doing big pipe headers you will want to do the uppipe as well, with a proper tune you will see great gains. You will need to purchase lower and upper uppipe gaskets and head to manifold gaskets. You will still be able to use your turbo heat shield.

  • Q: Will it match Perrin ELH?   msasbah403615 years ago

I am planning to order it along with Perrin ELH - are they compatible?
  • Q: tune?  SubieLover045 years ago

Will I need a tune with this? I have an AEM cold air intake, BOV, and nameless exhaust? Also will this fit on the stock headers and turbo?
  • Q: Gasket selection  Joe Polcari5 years ago

With the larger tube ID, what are the best replacement gaskets? Are the openings in the GS gaskets large enough not to create an edge?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Factory gaskets are oversized, so you would be fine to use the OEM, GrimmSpeed or Permaseal units.

  • Q: Tune needed?  russ80125 years ago

Would a custom tune be required after installing this Up-pipe?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A tune is not necessary if this is your first mod. If it's not your first mod you may need a tune or re-tune.
