MODEL # GRM 059001

$340.00

  • Q: Vehicle fitment  Mr Phil3 years ago

Your vehicle description at the top of the page says it will not fit my 2002 WRX. But if you go on GrimmSpeed page directly and search for parts for a 2002 WRX this exact same part comes up. Is there anything different from this one compared to the one that's on their website?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Since this removes a factory emissions device we are no longer able to confirm fitment for the earlier model WRXs which include a catalytic converter in the uppipe.

  • Q: GrimSpeed uppipe with wastegate  2013wrx6033 years ago

I am currently at stage 2. Codd accessport, sf intake, invidia downpipe, and magnaflow catback. I do not have a external wastegate. My question is should I get the Tail MV-S wastegate 38mm or get the GrimmSpeed 38/40 V-Band External Wastegate Uppipe? I am planning on getting the process west vertical top mount intercooler along with a few other mods. Thanks.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This up pipe is designed to be used with the External Wastegate. So you would need both the Tial MV-S 38mm Wastegate and this up pipe to complete the install.

  • Q: Fitment  Jon3 years ago

I'm looking into a turbo swap for my 2006 wrx. I have a 3 inch Invidia catless downpipe and want to upgrade to a vf39 turbo. To my understanding there is an wastegate that is connected to the turbo and the aftermarket uppipe (the one I'm asking about) will connect to the wastegate. So I will just have to buy this part and this also to go along with it? --> http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/product/tbs-ts-0505-1006-turbosmart-comp-gate40-wastegate-black
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The VF39 already has an internal wastegate just like your factory turbocharger. This uppipe would not be required for that kind of a setup but external wastegates can be more efficient over the internal wastegate and this is optional.

Will the tial 38mm ewg, Part #: TIA MVSB work with this up pipe?
  • Q: bracket for 09 wrx  joe2008me284444 years ago

Do you have to buy a bracket seperatly or does it come with one already?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Which bracket are you referring to? If it is an internal wastegate bracket that must be purchased separately since it depends on the type of turbocharger you have.

    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The dump tube is recommended, typically you should be able to rotate it in such a way to clear the downpipe without a problem. If you continue to have issues with installation please email us at [email protected] so we can assist you better.

A:  This pipe is designed to use a 38mm Tial or 40mm Turbosmart V band wastegate. If you want to run a 44mm Tial or 45mm Turbosmart the up pipe with the proper flange is Part Number 013001. -Andy

  • Q: Fit with Stock Headers?  Ruzty13114 years ago

This might be an obvious question, but does this uppipe fit the stock headers on a '12 wrx AND would there be any disadvantage to running this coupled with an EWG on the stock headers?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will fit just fine, no issue there! Just be sure to order the 2-bolt version, not the 3-bolt one. Yes there is good advantage to running this with the OEM header, we have a shop car making close to 600 WHP and its still on the stock header, not the limitation that most people think it is. -Matt H.

  • Q: tuning   dizonrudolfo394547 years ago

will this EWG uppipe require a pro tune or can i tune this upipe with my accessport?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A protune is recommended to insure your car is running optimally. An ewg set up will greatly change the way your boost reacts and these changes should be accounted for. Mike
