PERRIN Turbo Inlet Hose 3in Black
Subaru WRX 2002-2007 / STI 2004+ / Forester XT 2004-2008
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct carries a great selection of aftermarket upgrades brought to you by PERRIN Performance.
The PERRIN Turbo Inlet Hose has been designed to be a direct replacement for your factory inlet hose which is prone to failure after years or mileage of use. Usually, the stock turbo inlet will tear at the connection side of the turbocharger which can affect performance, throw a check engine light, and even reduce the power. PERRIN relieves this issue with its robust example.

First of all, this inlet fits perfectly... but is extremely hard to install. If you're brave enough to install a stock location turbo with a 3" inlet, you should already expect to have a hard time with your entire setup. You'll need to take your intake off and I recommend phenolic spacers to give you a little extra room.
Everything mates up properly, strong material that wont fall apart but super tight fit. Some areas will be squished but I didn't notice any issues caused by this. It's the only 3in on the market but it works and hasn't caused any issues 4000 miles later. When I installed this I installed TGV's as well, I would assume the manifold would have to be to be removed for install due to sizing.
Came with everything I needed to install it and seems like good quality. It fit my 2013 WRX with the the plastic manifold without issue. It fit rite up to a dominator 4.0 turbo fairly easily. I deleted the TGV, EGR, and all the air pump plumbing, wich may cause an issue with fitment. Something to keep in mind if you want to pair this intake with the plastic WRX manifold.
I was running a 3 inch to 2 1/2 inch coupler and a ebay silicone inlet before i bought this. can honestly say that my old set up was better because the perrin pipe doesn't really let me run a bov hose.. its too close to the manifold and the silicone won't fit over my FP green inlet because its too thick in the rh corner and won't really slip on all the way.. installation is pretty easy if you face the nipple down the whole way in. Not bad but definitely not worth more than like 75 bucks.
Good product, well made. Fitting it was a challenge requiring allot of effort but worth it in the end. The connecting pipework (clips and small hoses) should also be checked/changed before commencing the hose swop.

Q: Fitment 2019 STI Gavan213 years ago
OEM turbo inlet has a fourth port towards the center of inlet close to the turbo. Why does this product only show three ports for hose hook ups? Will there just be an open line with no connection point with this new unit?

A: The PCV diagnosis connector (that 4th port) will not be reused when installing this turbo inlet. The included instructions will walk you through disabling this connector.

A: This one is specific for large turbo's with 3inch inlets, where the PSP-INT-401BK will work with your stock turbo or turbo's with the stock sized 2.4inch inlet. Hope this helps!

Does it fit the stock air box?

A: The turbo inlet hose does not connect to the airbox and would be attached to the turbo on one end, and connects up with the air intake section before the MAF housing, before the airbox.
