Add more power and performance to your vehicle with the COBB Tuning Stainless Steel Turbo Back Exhaust System.
This exhaust system begins with the COBB Tuning's 3" Catted Downpipe. The main purpose of this downpipe is to lift the restrictions of the factory downpipe with a design that features smooth mandrel bends and increased piping diameter. Additionally, this downpipe has a high-spun catalytic converter that makes it environmentally friendly without affecting the performance.
When combined with the COBB Tuning Stainless Steel Exhaust System you are substantially lifting the restrictions from the factory exhaust system. Now you have a downpipe and a cat back exhaust system designed with smooth mandrel bends that limit turbulence under acceleration which increases horsepower, torque, and you get improvements in throttle response, fuel economy, and reduced turbo lag.
Both the downpipe and the cat-back exhaust system will come with hardware and gaskets to make it ready for installation. The cat-back exhaust system has been built with exhaust hangers on the OEM locations so that you don't have to perform any further modifications to the body or chassis.
Note: A new Turbo to Downpipe and Donut gaskets are not included and recommended.

Yep, this is all as advertised. Super high quality construction and fitment. Easy installation, even on my '02 WRX rust bucket. And the sound is exactly what I wanted-- low predatory growl, no drone, not rice-y. Five stars.
I just installed this Cobb TBE on my 2005 Sti (USDM), it looks amazing, fits perfectly and sound awesome! I remap my Cobb AP V3 to OTS STage 2 (ACN), the car runs smoothly. Definitely got louder though, I wasn't expecting it to be like that, I might get used to it, I just hope my neighbor will not notice it. But then again, who cares, I love the sound and performance now. It's a little pricey, but once you see it installed and hear it rumble, you'll forget how much you paid. :) I also used Cobb Blue hangers and new bolts, studs and nuts.(didn't have to, but I replaced them anyway for peace of mind) Highly recommend!
Phenomenal build quality and great fitment, everything bolted right up with only a few minor hitches. The Cobb Turbo Back setup came with all the hardware and gasket to connect the exhaust to the midpipe but no hardware or gaskets to connect the midpipe to the downpipe. Once that was sorted out, easy install.
This was by far the easiest exhaust kit I've installed. (I've only installed a few catbacks over the years on various V8 american and german vehicles, but this install was extremely easy.) It is also very well made and a work of art! I'm not going to spend a lot of time explaining the pros of this exhaust, because anyone reading this review likely knows them. I had 1 friend help me with this, and total time spent on the removal of stock and install of this exhaust was about 2.5 hours. The exhaust note is deep at idle, with a low bass note - very soothing. Under load and acceleration the sound is not annoying or raspy or even very loud. It's quiet enough that you can carry on a conversation and not have to speak up (your passengers may not even realize there's an aftermarket exhaust on the car). Overall a huge thumbs up to COBB for the beautiful exhaust - the workmanship and build quality are evident in every piece of this kit. Highly recommend this!
The sound is spot on. Quieter than my previous systems. Has no drone effect at interstate speeds. Deeper rumble than the HKS hi power I had before (more ricey sound.) Deeper rumble than my old invidia system. Deeper rumble than stock with muffler delete. Fitment was perfect. Be sure to get all necessary gaskets to prevent leakage. And it looks amazing! No giant ugly tip! And it's built like a tank!

im pretty sure the downpipe can fit onto the stock mid and down, but will the midpipe fit onto an oem sized axleback for an 2005 impreza wrx? (specifics just in case) thanks.

A: The Cobb mid pipe will not fit onto an OEM axleback. The OEM axleback is 2.25in and the Cobb mid pipe will be 3in where it meets the axleback.

A: You can use the AccessPort Stage 2 map for this turboback and no other tuning is required.
