Features & Product Details

An upgraded exhaust system certainly wakes up any turbocharged vehicle because it lifts the restraints and limitations of the factory exhaust system. This is the COBB Tuning Subaru Stainless Steel 3" Turbo Back Exhaust System with a resonated J-pipe.

Your factory J-pipe is heavy, restrictive, and makes the turbocharger work a little harder to push that power through the limited piping. COBB solves this issue by designing a 3" J-pipe with smooth bends that allow the exhaust gasses to escape more efficiently. Additionally, this downpipe features the provisions for your factory 02 sensors but also comes with an extra provision to install an aftermarket wideband if needed. COBB implements 200 cell high flow catalytic converter which has a better flow rate and longer life when compared to the factory unit. Once installed, this J-pipe will definitely provide more power, better torque, and reduce turbo lag as well.

The cat-back exhaust system has been fabricated from 304 stainless steel and works well with the downpipe. This exhaust system has been designed with smooth mandrel bends that reduce turbulence under acceleration and provides an aggressive exhaust note that really exposes that flagship flat 4 rumble. Exhaust hangers were welded onto the stock locations which means that you don't have to make any further modifications when installing this exhaust system. The exhaust gasses will exit through quad 3.5" Double Wall Tips. Additionally, this exhaust system will come with provided gaskets and hardware to make it ready for installation.

Once installed, enjoy the benefits of improved performance and a more aggressive tone under idle, as well as acceleration. This exhaust system will also be ready to be ran with the COBB OTS Maps.

Note: Manual 6 Speed Transmission Only.

Note: A new Turbo to J-Pipe gasket is not included and recommended.

P.I.T.A Install! 3 years ago
5out of 5stars

If you do not have a lift or a pro install, your in for a ride. The install was smooth for the J pipe install, give I had the Grimm speed stud set and Gasket. The Catback removal not so much, from the mufflers and the only reason I had a hard time was the rubber hangers were hard to reach. Do yourself a favor and buy a removal hanger tool from Amazon or something, it is not needed but will make your removal job a lot easier. The install of the Cobb Catback was so not as bad. Still had trouble installing it, fitment is a pain, so just take your time. The only issue I had was joining the two together, I think Cobb should make a midsection that is made for the complete TBE and use V band for seals. Now, let me be clear! in no way am I saying this Setup is horrible or not purchase. Just want to make anyone aware of what they are getting into. Now for the Benefits, and happy stuff. Once you get everything sorted and tuned, you won't regret it and realize it was worth the pain. it is not that loud ( which I wanted). However, you will definitely see a difference in power across the band. There is a very small drone while on the highway but disappears after you get through the gears. It is a great exhaust and is very stealthy when you need it to be, all in all, if you're looking for an exhaust with performance and not the loud pissing off the world exhaust. Then this will be the one to get!!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: COBB TBE  dlnwooldridge6 months ago

I have an aftermarket muffler delete on my stock exhaust. Does the diameter of the COBB TBE have a stock fitment from axle back or will I have to scrap the muffler delete?

A:  You will likely have to scrap the muffler deletes as I would doubt it would work with this midpipe. Thanks
