Torque Solution Cylinder 4 Coolant Mod
Subaru EJ Motors (inc. 2002-2014 WRX / 2004+ STI)
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct proudly carries a massive selection of high-performance engine, suspension, and drivetrain upgrades to reinforce your race car, rally car, or overlander brought to you by Torque Solution.
Here, you are looking at the Torque Solution Cylinder 4 Coolant Mod. This modification has been designed to increase the coolant flow to the cylinder number 4 head area. This will help reduce the cylinder number 4 coolant temperatures to keep them more uniform with the rest of the cylinders to reduce knock and detonation. This will also help reduce the chances of the common cylinder number 4 ring land failure.

Work’s amazing and helps a lot with cooling.
I have installed this or similar on several Subarus (a GD STi, and SH FXT most recently). Not only do you have the peace of mind of more consistent cooling throughout the motor, but you will also enjoy a car that warms up much faster in the cold. This kit boasts really nice quality silicone, and quality machined fittings. Tough to bend up to the coolant line, but otherwise straightforward install. Make sure to seal the threaded side of tube!
I bought this after my second engine failed. I wanted to do everything to save cylinder 4 from failure. I used this along side elh and a AOS. Built the car in the beginning of summer and did not notice any issues till the winter. I had zero heat. I was under the assumption my core was bad and had been leaking. However, after my 4th build, it dawned on me that the only simular parts between builds was the coolant mod. After reverting back to stock, I’m happy to say I have heat again and not just while moving. I highly do not recommend this product or the original if you want heat. The decrease in cylinder temp is less than 8 degrees, I’d rather have heat.
After researching this mod I personally thought it was worth it. Hopefully it will extend the life of my EJ255.
Feel much better having this. Noticed way cooler engine Temps (upgraded to koyorad at same time) slightly less knock even in Phoenix heat. "Fun" to install but worth it, not alot of room for your hands. you'll wish you had 3 hands but only room for 2 fingers. 1" crowfoot wrench a MUST.
