As the title says. While it may work with a premium or base model, this will not work on a limited model even though it is listed as compatible. Nice piece though and just ended up giving to my brother to put on his 15+ WRX. Would recommend RSD update the compatibility list to avoid this in the future though.
easy to install just make sure you don't let go of the red stopper thing when holding it place with the brace.
Well made, does what it’s supposed to / clams to do, install is in a tight space but isn’t difficult. I’d recommend it.
Came with no instructions. Eerily similar design to Cusco brace, FYI. Just watch those Cusco Youtube videos and you’re set. Honestly, just place the brace over the area it’s supposed to be and there’ll be holes to match the braces’. Bolts included in the kit also replace the two stock bolts you’ll have to remove from hose braces to fit through them and the Torque Solution brace. Joint socket does help with installation in the tight space. Only annoyance was installing the red flat piece that goes against the master cylinder. Kept dropping it into the engine bay and suspension, until I used sticky wire tape to hold it in place, until the adjustable bolt was screwed in to hold it in place and I could slide the tape out. Could’ve been just my amateur dexterity. Brace worked as advertised. Eliminates the mushiness of braking. Initial bite of braking is no different or improved, but I felt it working in the middle and end portion of stopping. Before, when stock, pressure on braking didn’t feel progressive or consistent—especially in the middle and end of stopping. That mush, from the firewall flex, made me apply more pressure than I anticipated. Sometimes it caused me to brake later than I expected; forced me to use more perceived force on the brake pedal and my stops would me more abrupt than I liked them. With the brace, I have a smoother, more predictable stop. I haven’t tried really hard braking yet, but I expect more confidence in emergency situations.
This master cylinder brace is very stout. The bolt holes lined up perfectly and all the hardware necessary was provided. They even included 2 quality stickers in the box, but they did not include any installation instructions. While not necessary for many of us, there are definitely people out there who would benefit from a simple set of instructions that would fit on a single sheet of paper. The lack of instructions is the only reason I dinged them.
