Updated version seems to have solved all the problems
tempemail55bf6ceacaae52c9038bca23 1 year ago
I bought these despite all the mixed reviews. The product you receive looks far superior than the photos on this site. I have mine set on the max camber/caster setting and it improved both as claimed. My car is an 02 rs shell with 05 Sti suspension so a bit of a Frankenstein. I was only able to get -1.4/-1.3 camber but still a much needed improvement. Car handled noticeably better at the last track day and tire wear is more desirable. I would highly recommend them if your like me and want to retain your current ride height, increase camber and like your current strut/spring setup.

Bearing Issues...
ras.mail86821 3 years ago
I'll start with the good: With these top mounts installed on my 2006 WRX wagon in the max caster/max negative camber position, my maximum possible camber went from -1.5 to -2.6. Stock caster of 3.5 increased to 4.3. I installed a Whiteline ALK at the same time, so some of the caster increase was a result of that mod. Now the bad that may offset all the good: My mounts came with the open designed Koyo 6302-4 bearings that have proven to be problematic. Whiteline is offering a replacement under warranty and hopefully a redesigned bearing will solve the problem. Maybe so maybe no... A big thanks to Rallysport Direct customer service for facilitating the replacement.

Overall this product is not bad. It is a lot nosier over stock. If you are buying you more than likely don't care about since you would doing track days or SCCA events. We installed this on a 2002 WRX. I run TEIN Racing Circuit Master Coilvers on my 2007 STI. While I was only able to get -2,5 camber at the alignment shop. We managed to get more on with setup which I thought was impressive for a less adjustable setup we are running on this 2002 WRX. Good product with a quality alignment it will shave off seconds in Auto Cross.

Great alternative to camber plates

I have the Com C plates on my 2005 STi. Great product, as you would expect from Whiteline. At my last alignment, the tech was able to achieve -2.0 degrees of camber easily and mentioned there could be more available. A great inexpensive alternative to camber plates.

  • Q: Whiteline top hats  mwmxpaintballer116643 2 years ago

    Answer

Are these the front top hats? It's not specified. Also has the bearing design been improved with the sealed bearing?

    • A: Yes, these are the front strut tops. This kit is also currently using a new double sealed bearing design that has been available with excellent results since July 2014.

Jonathan @ Whiteline 2 years ago
    • A: These will be for the fronts only. The shielded/sealed bearing is a much improved design for these.

  • Q: Indepandant camber/caster adjustment  lowrenj 2 years ago

    Answer

Can you adjust the caster and camber independently with these strut mounts or will the adjustment of one affect the other?

    • A: Although we have not tested a vehicle set up in this manner, and we do not recommend it, you can physically orient both strut tops in different directions to attain two different alignment settings. This would almost certainly affect driveability and I would warn against it.

Jonathan @ Whiteline 2 years ago
    • A: These mounts are not adjustable and they will add +0.75 deg caster & -0.5 deg camber.

  • Q: Shielded or not?  alexbacall21169 3 years ago

    Answer

The Whiteline page says clearly that they use a twin shielded bearing. The pics show otherwise. Very strange to go with an open design on this part.. Any input?

    • A: Whiteline has revised their design and these now have shielded bearings.

  • Q: OEM Shocks  2.5RSBoxer 3 years ago

    Answer

Would these fit the OEM struts?

    • A: These are designed for OEM struts.

  • Q: Com C and Koni Inserts  treeridesbmx 3 years ago

    Answer

Hello, are the compatible with koni inserts on 05 wagon struts? I know stock style fit but am not sure how different the koni's make the struts. Thanks you Forest

    • A: As long as the Koni's work with stock top hats with no issues, they can work with these tophats as well
