Better than OEM at great price 4 years ago

I got one of these for my 93 Legacy with a 93 JDM WRX 2.0 swap. Fitment was spot-on, the timing marks may as well be lit-up, and the construction really feels top-notch. This is not much more than a standard belt, I'd highly recommend this for anyone who is currently or plans to be non-stock when they're replacing their belt.

RSD is my go to site for all of my WRX needs, don't forget the timing belt kit when you do this you need to replace EVERYTHING under the cover, pulleys waterpump etc.

I’m blue 8 months ago

I purchased this item hoping it would be a perfect fit for my build and power goals set at mid 400s whp. I’m still in the process of reaching these goals, just finished building the bottom end, but now I’m annoyed frustrated with this product. Gates makes a great normal timing belt, but there race “blue” belt, left blue deposits on my new OEM idler pulley, and gates pulleys. I figured it was a possibility reading old reviews from some odd time back, but I figured it was safe to assume this would happen after some 30-50 thousand miles on the belt, but not 800 miles... so I don’t recommend this product, on the basis it leaves heavy deposits on the pulleys. Maybe an OEM belt just changed sooner and checked on periodically would be more suited.
