These handle rough roads and rural terrain like nothing else. Not the best for the track, but for a daily driven STI I'd put these at the absolute top of the chart.

Tein quality is very good. This is the second Tein product that I have used on a Subaru STi, so obviously a returning customer says a lot. Installation is certainly easier than trying to replace dampers. These Coilovers allow you to almost retain stock ride height if needed, lowering is simple. Usually when you lower a vehicle you lose travel. For that reason the car does dive" into holes and dips more than stock, and the ride is harsher and more bouncy than stock because of higher spring rate and removal of the thick rubber strut mounts. Also road noise transmission through the chassis is more pronounced due to the sounds being conducted through the metal to metal contact of the strut tower. But at the track none of that matters, and 16 way adjustable dampening is nice. Also, top mounted camber plates adjustment for the front is simple to access, and makes the car handle better at the track, while simultaneously preserving the outer tire tread at -2.5 to -3.0 degrees camber; front tire wear is completely even in this range. You can live with these on the street, and they don't disappoint at the track 2007 Subaru STi

I bought these as a replacement for some Feal fixed perch struts (With oe Sti springs) that I was very disappointed with..they started leaking oil and adjuster froze up on one after less than 10k miles.. Have had several~$1000 coilovers over the years on various platforms (BC,Ground control/Koni and a few of the other Chinese ones) and these are easily the best out of the box..The dampers and springs are matched well and made my tired old Subaru feel new again..They are on the softer end compared to some of the other sets but they ride beautifully and actually inspire more confidence than even the OE suspension..I rarely leave reviews but was so impressed with these for the money..Highly recommend unless you can spend $1500+ on KW’s or the like

Surprised by the value of these. I was skeptical at first, but figured Tein cut costs by using steel construction. Be warned though, they do seem softer than stock sti suspension. I have them paired with whiteline sway bars, 27mmf/24mmr. I use it as a daily/ canyon cruiser and I prefer the softer setup as the car gives a sense of confidence in the corners. I’ve ran other stiffer coilovers on a rx7 and sc300 and id have to say softer give more confidence than stiffer ones which make you feel like you’re going to understeer.

These coilovers are perfect for the street and would be ok for light track use. I installed these on a '07 STI and lowered my car 50mm. Install was easy and I'm running my camber at stock settings. You can't beat the price for a midrange coilover.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Preload  bogart2 years ago

Hi, I bought these from you guys and I'm asking if can you adjust the preload (to make the ride softer) and still maintain the same ride height? Thanks
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Yes, ride height adjustment is independent and can be changed without effecting other ride characteristics.

    • Q: Installation  Dylan3 years ago

Do these come already preset from tein for the specific car or would I have to adjust even more than how they came?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Great question. These will need to be setup once they are out of the box. Tein does include instructions in the box that go over all the measurements and how to get them setup. Now from there you are welcome to adjust them to how you see fit and how low/high you want the car to sit. Thanks!

    • Q: Edfc pro motors and struct  Chathu7 years ago

I have Tein flex z on my 2005 jdm subaru sti. Pretty sure it's the same as the usdm. What are the motors I need? And do I need a struct kit, if so do I need to buy 2 kits? Thank you
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These coilovers will require the EDFC controller of your choosing, the EDK05-12140 M12/M14 motor kit, and the strut mount kit which is part number EDK06-K4474.

Is this suspension kit adjusted for ride comfort better ride quality then the stock 05 sti suspension?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These will perform better than your stock suspension. ride quality will be based on how you setup the coilovers.
