Well for starters, install was a pain. Fits on a FP Green turbo great without using the adapters. however all the fittings were leaking! You'd think the aluminum fittings wouldn't leak but wrong, was very disappointed after spending almost $200 on a new inlet for it to leak from every fitting. If you purchase I highly encourage you to get a boost leak test done after installing. Or install clamps on every fitting.
It took me about 3-4 hrs to get this installed (including removal of oem). Despite the suggested lubrication prior to install, it was still a difficult to slide into position. Their is a corner of the manifold that ends up scrapping/gouging the hose if you're not careful. Once set in place, the hose presses tightly against said corner as well as the hardline to the power steering pump. Hopefully the hose holds up over time. Tomei needs to redesign this hose for proper fitment.
So where do I start, took me 3hrs to install. Extremely frustrating because the inlet was not an exact fitment, some of the tubes sat in a different position, extremely close to the headers, and I struggled to put everything back on. As you can see in the picture, not exact fitment, I bought a 1ft hose from autozone to make it longer so it would fit. The blow off valve tube was off and I had to force the blow off valve back into place to put the bolts on the intercooler. It does look nice once I finished installing, the turbo sound is slightly louder and now there’s a whining noise which is pretty cool. Couldn’t tell the difference in power, if I’m being honest. The silicone quality is good and extremely flexible.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: Tomei Silicone Turbo Inlet Hose (Blue) - Construction AZWRBSTI062 years agoI'd like to know if this hose contains the metal wire insert to help it keep its shape during boost. The competitors (Mishimoto, Perrin, etc) all clearly state the metal inserts to help it keep its shape.
