Purchased these after a long deliberation on which dampers to get. Realizing that ride quality is still a big concern, even when the car's primary use is autocross, I decided on the Ohlins R&T. As soon as I made my purchase I also purchased a set of 8kg/mm 8in length springs for both the front and back shocks. I left the gold Ohlins springs in the box. The kit comes disassembled, save for the lower mounts on the shock bodies. These are configured with the ride height configured for a 2014 and lower vehicle. I left them as-is to see if the ride height would be to my liking, knowing that there was plenty of room for lowering later. In this configuration I believe that the car has lost somewhere around 1/2 to 1 inches of ride height. Also the fact that they come disassembled means you get to have a grown-up Lego moment with your children if you want. Ride quality is excellent. The OE setup would cause a jarring sensation when hitting a road reflector or break in the tarmac. With the Ohlins you get a noise and then move on. My wife says that the car rides the same, which is a win in my book. Toss in some performance driving and you'll be surprised that the same suspension that rides like stock keeps the car level and flat. Hit a bump mid-corner and the suspension absorbs it and keeps going. Braking at the limit is also much improved with less nose-dive and better control of weight transfer. Fast side to side transitions are now better controlled and do not result in me feeling as if the vehicle is going to roll over on its doors. Finally these are able to be adjusted by a number of shops to handle higher spring rates or to be customized exactly as you desire. Which means that having spent this much on dampers, you'll then be able to keep them around for a while, rather than replacing them with 'something better' after you've out grown them. If you can afford it, and you're looking for something that can grow with you, these are a fantastic choice.

I’m looking to lift my 2014 STi 1.5-2”. Will these work for that, or are these only meant for pavement and/or lowering the car?

A: These are more suited to spirited road driving/track use. Give us a call and we can find some options that are more suited for lifts or light off road duty.

A: The WRXs have different hubs, so the lower strut mounts of these will not bolt up unfortunately.
