Features & Product Details
It is common for the rear subframe to have excessive movement under lateral loads, and Kartboy helps to relieve this issue with their Rear Subframe Lockdown Bolts. This kit includes a pair of bolts that are installed into sleeves that will keep your subframe locked in place without the risk of affecting your alignment among other things that can happen once our factory subframe bolts come loose.
Installation is simple and can be performed with proper ratchets and sockets.

Contrary to the confirmed fitment for my 2002 TS, these bolts DO NOT fit as my rear subframe capture nut hole is too small to accept the M12x1,25 bolt. After measuring, it turns out mine is M10x1,25. Also confirmed on a friends 04 TS wagon as well...... So 1 Star rating for misleading confirmed fitment.....
Went right in with no hassle and, combined with an STI rear sway and Subtle Solutions trunk brace, really tightened up the rear end.
These bolts were super easy to install after a quick chase of the threads with a tap. Be sure to use a little thread lubricant. For such a minimal part, the difference in performance was quite apparent. The rear feels much more solid under lateral load situations. Why not try them for just $30?!
Installed these on my 2004 WRX and immediately after installing, I took the car for a spin and noticed a difference in how the car felt! When powering into a corner, the car felt planted to the ground and all around felt stronger in the rear! Highly recommend for anyone, as it's a very simple install that add great benefits!
Got ordered and it was at my door really quick. Install was really easy but finding the tap was surprisingly difficult. noticeable difference in how the car handles turns. Feels solid. I don't have any other suspension mods to the car so before and after is very apparent. Up next Sways and new struts. Thanks for the fast shipping and great prices.

Q: Tap Needed? JoshSti5 months ago
Do I really need a Tap for my 2005 STi to install this Kartboy Subframe Lockdown bolts? Please advise.

A: It is not required to, however, because your car is a bit older, you may want to consider using a chaser tap to clean up the threads before you install these. The holes where these are installed are threaded from the factory but there are no bolts that are installed from the factory so the holes are exposed and can get dirty over time.

Q: Susp. height hrvelez6 years ago
Does this bolts get the suspension 1/4 lower as stated on the reviews?
-
-
1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful
A: Kartboy has confirmed that these bolts should not have any affect on the suspension height because the the subframe is already locked down on height. The bolts are intended to eliminate movement rather than compress the subframe to the body.

If I could get my hands on a tap, what size tap would I use for these threads?

A: According to my chart here these bolts would use an M14x1.25 tap.

A: The tap needed on my 03 WRX was a M12x1.25. I followed the advice and first bought the size 14 and it was too big. FYI, save yourself an extra trip to the hardware store.

A: Don't give false information about the parts you're selling if you don't know what you're selling Tanner it's an M12 by 1.25 for the cart boy Botox bolts if anybody else wondered
