i have a crawford aos is it confirmed that it will fit with the aos installed on my car

A:  Unfortunately we are not able to confirm fitment with those two parts together. They will more than likely not mount properly without modification.

  • Q: Painting it  Arossteven2 years ago

I want this bar to match the engine bay in my 2014 Subaru WRX. I was thinking of getting it powder coated black, but bring that's it's made out of aluminum.. Is this a bad idea? I've heard powder coating could weaken the metal or something.. Any thoughts? Thanks!
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It's very common on tons of aluminum parts to be powder coated, and I do not think you will have any issues with powder coating this to match your engine bay.

A:  I'm running this strut bar on my 2011 sti with the process west intercooler. It fits but during idle the intercooler will vibrate against the bar. It's super annoying. I added a piece of weather stripping that's padded to the bottom of the bar for the time being. But I will most likely be switching strut bars in the near future.

  • Q: Fittment with Aftermarket TMICs  eod13x3 years ago

Have you test fitted this bar with any Aftermarket TMICs? If not, do you have any testimonials of customers who have? If so, which TMIC was it tested with?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We are unable to confirm compatibility with aftermarket TMICs. I recommend referring to NASIOC threads to see what TMICs others are running with this brace.

  • Q: Balance between front and back sti 2012 sedan  Malammadi4 years ago

Hi, I have 22mm sway bars front and back and am wondering if I install only front strut bar would this cause understeer or un balanced control. Also would please like advice if it will be better to get front and back strut bar instead of front only and how that will impact performance. Thanks rsd for all the help
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A strut tower bar does not effect bias between the front and rear wheels like a swaybar does. It helps tie in voids in the chassis and reinforces it to prevent torsion.

  • Q: Default Torque of Cusco Hardware  Fd0ubleo996205 years ago

Is it necessary to retorque the cusco hardware to 40.6 foot lbs, or does it come that way from the factory?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will need to torque the hardware after installation and you will more than likely need to loosen the bolts that connect the bar to the brackets to align the brackets to the correct angle.

  • Q: color of the bar  j_revlock5 years ago

I see some of the pictures have a blue bar as well as blue mounts. Do you guys sell those? thanks
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The blue color you are seeing on the bar is the protective film that Cusco puts on the strut bar from the factory. Cusco does not offer a blue bar at this time.

  • Q: contact issues??  3zero35 years ago

Are there any problems with the stock plastic air dam piece for the tmic on the underside of the hood when closed?? You can see it in the 1st picture of the car with the white painted pieces in the engine bay and also in some of the review pics it is visible.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  When the hood is closed the hood scoop splitter should not cause any issues with the strut bar. You may need to guide the splitter flap between the TMIC and strut bar when closing the hood though.

hey guys! does anybody know which one of these bars are better ? the cusco or the spt from Subaru? have a impreza 2.5i hatch
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There unfortunately have not been any comparisons done that we know of. Cusco makes a great product and puts a lot of Research & Development into their items. It would be a great choice.

  • Q: Japanese Instructions  NGenesis96 years ago

Not that these parts are difficult to install, but why are all of the instructions in Japanese? In fact, the only English on all the paperwork says this product is intended for use in Japan only. It should not be used in any other country. What?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Reason all the instructions are in Japanese is that this is a product made in Japan for the Japanese market. Reason they state that its for JDM market only is that for a manufacture its impossible to test products on EVERY markets car in the world. Being a authorized Cusco dealer we verify fitment on such items on US market cars to ensure that they fit on US cars. As for instructions they are straight forward, and doesnt take any special work. If you have any questions during install dont hesitate to contact us.

  • Q: 2013 STI  sonny_go675686 years ago

Just want to double check if the middle bar doesnt rest at the plastic panel at the back? I noticed a good space between the TMIC but not enough space at the back. I installed my old SPT Strut bar from 11WRX but it makes a light chipping sound when I hit a bump.
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We installed this bar on our 2011 STi and I've never heard any rubbing noises but we have a few millimeters of clearance between the bar and the firewall. So far we haven't logged any complaints about noise from any of our customers in the past so I think it should work great on your 2013 STi.

  • Q: Hood scoop obstruction  justintimberlakeofjapan7 years ago

Regarding this comment: Easy install. Just make sure when close the hood. the scoop that plastic may hit the strut bar...you can see the photo on Cusco instruction paper too... by Blm0728 on 08/27/11 What does that mean? Will it fit properly on a 2012 WRX without hitting anything under the hood?
    • 2 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It should clear just fine, but do take note after the install and before you shut the hood, that the strut bar clears everything on the hood properly. I have not seen an issue before, but never a bad idea to double check to make sure everything will clear without an issue. Thanks. Rick
