    I bought the parts and had a mechanic install them for me. I got the OEM clutch replacement and the lightweight flywheel. The clutch feels solid, so far I have 500 city/hwy miles on it. It grabs really well.

    I bought this clutch to replace my stock clutch. I wasn't looking to do any mods so I thought this would be right for me. It grabs well, has a nice feel too and pressure to it, and holds over stock power. Installation is a breeze. Mine for some reason didn't come with the grease as seen in the picture but oh well, I had extra from a different project. Now the part I don't really like about it is that it's LOUD. There's something about the OEM design that produces a lot of noise when decelerating or engine braking. It's not a bad thing, just something I didn't expect. It could have been my fault if I didn't respect the break-in period well enough but forums make it sound like this is a known issue with the stock clutch design.

    I found that after 140,000 miles it was finally time to replace the clutch in my 2002 wrx. Installation was simple enough (you'll have to find your own instructions btw), but the kit didn't come with any grease for the drive shaft. I had to use some wheel bearing grease, which worked fine. It works pretty well, identically to what the oem clutch did. Grab is still pretty soon, but not rough. The only real issue I had was a rough rattle before I broke it in completely (specifically while engine braking), but after around 500-700 miles the noise went away completely. I wouldn't recommend this clutch if you're going to tune or modify your car as you'll want something a little more grippy, but for a near stock daily it's fine.

    Exactly as ordered. Installed with a new oem flywheels (wish stock weight was available on here). Fit great and has been performing as expected since install

    This clutch is a great OEM replacement. It has great feel and holds up well. I would recommend using an alignment tool from napa, the plastic alignment tool included does not work too well. I paired this with a competition lightweight flywheel.

      My 04 wrx is tuned at 264 wheel tq. The stage one version of this clutch is rated for 300tq. Should I get this one or get the stage 1? I seem to be right in the middle

        A:  This is not rated for any sort of HP other than stock. If you are making more than stock I would suggest the stage 1 kit you previously mentioned.

      Will this clutch fit on an outback XT with an aftermarket flywheel? (not the factory dual mass flywheel) the outback has the same engine and transmission as the forester xt. Thanks for your help!

        A:  This is not the correct clutch for the Outback XT's. Depending on the vehicles year, EXE FJK1001 is likely the clutch you need and will need to be paired with a WRX 06-07 light weight flywheel.

        A:  Differences between the kits are in the clutch disc dampers and pressure plate castings. The FJK1006 uses a single stage damper assembly on the clutch disc (1 set of springs) the KSB03 clutch disc uses our patented "Wide angle" damper assembly. The Wide angle damper has 3 different dampening ratios for idle, acceleration and deceleration. The wide angle damper is larger than the single stage damper used in the FJK1006, so the pressure plate casting for the pressure plate has a larger inner diameter to accommodate this. The clamping force is the same between the two clutch kits as well as the friction material compound used for the facings on the clutch discs. The KSB03 clutch kit should be used with a new flywheel for the 2002 model year WRX and cannot be used with any OEM flywheel that has been resurfaced (Subaru does not recommend resurfacing of the flywheels used in the WRX's however it is commonly practiced) as the disc could interfere with the crank bolts for the flywheel. The KSB03 is the superior kit and will provide better drive line harmonic absorption. The FJK1006 will perform the same but user may notice an increase in driveline harmonics if switching from the KSB03 kit. The FJK1006 is labeled as "economy" solely because it is cheaper than the KSB03 kit.
