EXEDY cerametallic clutches are designed to handle the abuse of high power modified engines. The Exedy cerametallic friction material can handle much more abuse than stock type disc assemblies without slipping and fading. All EXEDY Stage 2 cerametallic clutch discs have sprung center dampers to reduce the impact and shock loads transmitted through the drivetrain. This is the Thick Version of the stage 2 clutch. The thick discs have better heat capacity and therefore better durability in demanding applications. Even with the thick disc, the Exedy puck designs typically have less inertia than a stock disc and work well for street, rally and track use.

2005-2009 Legacy GT & 2006-2008 Forester XT must use a 2006-2014 WRX flywheel for proper fitment.

Preforms great however there is some chatter. I have put over 1000 miles on this setup mind you this is with traffic and interstate driving. Great grab well worth the price. Really wish there was some more info as far as reviews and videos on the breakin.

This clutch is very tight and will be hard to break in. I would recommend it. Nice clutch easy footwork not stiff at all. Overall it's definitely a 3 puck lol

Pros: There is no question whether or not the clutch is engaged. Can def. handle more than the claimed 326 tq. Very positive shifting under full throttle situations. Cons: VERY chattery off the line. Verdict- Recommended by my builder, he uses as his race clutch in his drift WRX (320wtq). It's very chattery (extreme) right now on my GR (355wtq) off the line. Soft launch, hard launch, it's a finicky clutch.... might try a full-face next go-round if this doesn't smooth out soon!

The thing grabs like a champ, but i had to learn to drive a standard all over again with this bad boy. I wouldnt recommend this if you see yourself driving in traffic every day with your DD. Fun to launch with though. 4 stars

    i have a 2007 Subaru and I currently had a stage 2 clutch f1 and it wasn't able to hold up the horsepower. What kind of clutch would you think could hold up a 400 horsepower? would the exedy clutch be one of my option? what would you prefer?

      A:  This clutch is not rated for 400+ tq at the wheels and when searching, there is a power capability rating on the bottom of the clutch descriptions for you to go off of.

  • Q: practical for daily use?  carfo3199075 years ago

    i hae a 2008 wrx with headers and full exhaust with cobb sf air intake, my stock clutch just crapped the bed while I was on a dyno my car is a daily and wondering if this will be okay. the tuner said id be making roughly 320-330 ft/lbs of tq so that lies in the range according too the specs of this clutch but not sure if its good for daily use.

      A:  Even though this clutch would hold up to your power needs, it will not be a great option for daily driving. A puck style clutch will have very aggressive engagement and will burn up quite fast as a result of low amounts of friction material compared to a full face clutch (non-puck). We suggest for daily driven cars to use a full face clutch that allows for easy modulation and extended clutch life.

    Bought a wrx with this clutch and the car has 355 HP and 349tq to the wheels.. my current clutch is going bad should I get this again or something else.. I do daily drive this car

      A:  For a daily driver it is recommended to use a full faced disc because puck style discs can engage rather harshly.

    It says 2005-2009 Legacy gt must use 2006-2007 WRX flywheel for proper fitment, but the flywheels from both cars have the exact same part number...some clarification would be appreciated. Thanks

      A:  Legacy models use a Twin Mass flywheel from the factory, where as the WRX uses a single mass. The twin mass unit requires a specific clutch for that flywheel.
