Great clutch for OEM replacement.  6 years ago

I installed this clutch shortly after buying my 05 STi at 55k. It's held up to alot of launches and hard pulls. Definately recommend this to beginner drivers learning how to drive an STi. Strong clutch for cheap.

Decent clutch for the $ 7 years ago

I had this installed for me on my stock 06 STi after I fried the OEM clutch. The car drives awesome after break in. Launces are quicker. The first 200 or so miles come with the expected shudder, but it quickly goes away. This is a great upgrade for stock to stage 2 cars, but I wouldn't use it for all out builds.

Pretty good clutch 8 years ago

Installed this clutch a couple weeks ago on my 2007 STi, as stated before it's a decent clutch for a decent price, feels just about the same as the stock one, pressure plate feels better. Haven't tried it on dry pavement yet as it's winter but so far so good.

This is a decent clutch for the money. I had it installed at a local Subaru dealer along with shifter bushings and a new trans mount they didn't really want to do it but they did anyways. It is a little grabby and noisy for a street disc but works fine if your not up to spend big money for a twin disc. It holds torque well and has been a good clutch for the 2000 miles I've had it in for. But I think I'll just spend a little more and go with an Exedy twin disc next time.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: JDM fitment  driftkr6l4 years ago

Will this kit fit a JDM V8 STi?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We have not tested this setup on a JDM STI and do not have any way to confirm fitment. It is possible but we do not have any guarantees.

    • Q: Does it fit ?  serban4 years ago

Does it fit this kit for a Subaru STI 2008 hatchback model? If yes, does it need additional modification for installation?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This clutch kit will be a direct replacement for the stock clutch on a 2008 STI and no modification is necessary.

    • Q: 310ft/lbs  Atkins5 years ago

Hey, my STi is dyno'd at 310ft/lbs of torque. Is this pushing it when the max rating is 320? or is there a little bit of play in that number?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Exedy slightly under-rates their clutches. However given your tq level, if you plan on driving the car hard it would be a good idea to consider the Stage1HD system that is rated for a higher torque level.

what would happen if you had more tourque to the wheels
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you are making more power than the clutch is rated for, then the clutch would slip and would not hold the extra power.
