Stock clutch finally went out on my 06 STI. 136k miles. Decided to get this one with some help from the staff. Got it, and I took it to the shop.. Went to pick it up when it was done, and they said it all went in great! Took it out and love it! Easy to push the pedal down and really grabs! I don't race or anything, so this is a good daily clutch. Has some room if you wanna go up in torque one day too!
No issues, smooth as silk, slight increase in foot pressure required. No problem in bumper to bumper.
With only 200 of the required 500mile breaking period, I'm giving this clutch a 10/10 rating so far. The clutch pedal resistance is just slightly harder that the OEM Exedy (maybe 10% stiffer). When you release the clutch, the contact/engagement point is about 1 closer to the floor (perfect IMO). I'd say the feeling of clutch grab is maybe ~15% more on/off than the EOM exedy. I have experienced zero clutch chatter so far. I haven't launched the car yet (I'll wait for the 500mile mark). I'll update this review once I have the clutch fully broken in.
This is a great clutch for my current setup. I have a 18g-xtr pushing 365whp/400wtq on 93oct. The clutch chatters a little in low RPMs, but as expected. I have never had this clutch slip on me and has been installed for about 10000 miles now. The clutch feels like stock resistance, but grips much tougher. I have this mated to an OEM flywheel, since it's my DD, My only issue is I get burning clutch smell on occasion (mainly from stops/traffic in summer), and clutch tends to get soft-ish feel after spirited driving runs. Overall, this has treated me well and holds up for what I need.
Great stock feel. Very easy to drive with and it holds my TQ to redline!!! Love it!

Q: Replacing OEM '18 STI clutch? EdG3 months ago
I have to replace the clutch and since all is out I might as well change the flywheel as well. I know ACT only confirms fitment with their ACT clutches but which flywheel can be used with this clutch? I daily drive my car, 50% of my drive is mainly traffic so I wouldn't want to go too hard. Also, right now the care is very mildly tuned but in my future I would like 400WHP or so.

A: I would recommend pairing this with Comp's lightweight flywheel, ACT only officially confirms their flywheels with their clutches.

Q: Stage 2 vs stage 3 travelguy2k2 years ago
I currently have the stage 3 dual friction. This clutch should hold my power. Is it the same pressure plate as the stage 3 or will this be a little lighter on pedal pressure?

A: This will have a lighter pedal feel and is not the same pressure plate as the stage 3.

Q: Clutch and flywheel Hawkeye07STI2 years ago
Will this clutch work with the stock flywheel?

A: Yes this clutch will work with stock flywheel but, you'll need to resurface the flywheel for proper wear. If it has already be resurfaced before then we suggest a new flywheel.

A: This would be a great choice for your daily driver. Keep in mind that no matter what clutch kit you choose, when you move up in staged clutches it will get heavier on the clutch pedal. Personally I think this is a perfect daily driver.

Q: Competition clutch stage 2 Racmatkirov4 years ago
Hi this competition stage 2 can fit my subaru sti 2007 ? Can it hold up to 400 hp? Can it be daily driven

A: Yes this will fit your 2007 STI. As far as the HP rating this clutch will hold up to 425 ft/lbs at the wheels, many people do daily drive their vehicles using this clutch. Being that it is upgraded it will be a bit more noisy than OEM.
