  • Q: Clutch   Jeffery8 months ago

Will this clutch work well with a 350whp forester?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It will depend on how much wheel torque you're making. Assuming that's around the 350wtq mark as well, this would be a good choice, but you'd be right around what this clutch is rated for. The Xtreme Duty might be a better option if you plan on adding power in the near future or if you want some headroom.

  • Q: Flywheel   nickbell28189382511 months ago

Can this be bolted up to a OEM flywheel or do I need a aftermarket one?
  • Q: Fitment on tranny swap  Nelson Asay1 year ago

Hi! So I am looking into swapping my 5 speed with a 6 speed. But I wanted to know will this clutah work and fit with a 6 speed transmission? Thanks!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  No, this clutch is for 5-speed transmissions found in Subarus like the 2002-2005 WRX. You are going to want to match the clutch with the transmission you are swapping with.

  • Q: Autox  Gearhead264816503 years ago

Hi, I currently have an 02 wrx that I Autox in SMS. The car makes around 350 to the wheels and I am in the market for a clutch that will withstand 200+ Autox runs. I have 2 seasons on the one I have now (not including the prior owner) which is a stage 2 (or as I was told)
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This clutch is rated at 430ft/lbs at the crank so 350ft/lbs at the wheels might be just about where the torque capacity sits depending on drivetrain loss. Mileage or runtime is difficult to determine and depends on how the vehicle is used.

  • Q: Clutch question   shawsworld273 years ago

I have a 2003 wrx built ej2.5 motor and RA transmission gears I run 383 awhp and use this car as a daily driver, I have used an act 6 puck sprung clutch, act basic street disc before my build and Exedy street disc twice, I do drag race sometimes what would be the best option for me for smoothness, grip, and longevity
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Clutch kits with an organic disc, like this one, are going to be the smoothest, last the longest, and are recommended for daily driven vehicles. This clutch kit is rated for 430 ft/lbs at the flywheel (approximately 340 wtq), and may not hold the power that you are making.

  • Q: Which flywheel to go with?  andrew.shorkey89278813 years ago

Which flywheel do you recommend going with? I have aVersion 9 STi motor putting down about 300whp and 315wtrq. currently running on the stock clutch and flywheel... Time for an upgrade to say the least.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You can use any stock replacement flywheel with this clutch. The ACT Streetlite flywheel would work well with this.

  • Q: 04 wrx sti clone   rbeard3 years ago

Will this beat up my wrx 5 speed tramsmission and would it be safe to get tuned after 40 miles of driving
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This clutch kit is not too rough on transmissions, but it also depends on how you drive the car. You can break the clutch in within 40 miles, and you will just need to do a lot of starts from a stop.

  • Q: Transmission Abuse  Yuri4 years ago

I have heard that some harsher clutches will impact the longevity and increase the wear and tear on the glass box transmission of the WRX. I have a mostly stock 02 WRX and was wondering if this clutch kit would negatively affect my transmission.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A stiffer clutch can put some added stress on the transmission. But, wear and lifespan of a clutch will all come down to your driving style and what the car see's on a day to day basis. For more info or suggestions, Please feel free to give us a call.

  • Q: Too Much?  mitchellsmall7149514 years ago

So I recently purchased this clutch for my stage 2 2004 WRX. Never had the car on a dyno, but its estimated at mid 200 range for power at the wheels. My mechanic at Subaru thinks this is going to be an overkill for my car. Too grabby and chatter a lot, I anticipated a grabby and stiff feel because of the performance level of this clutch but he's not convinced that it will be a good idea for my daily driver. He wants to put the OEM Exedy replacement in. Anyone have input on what to do?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This clutch will work, but it will be overkill for your power level. The rougher engagement will be major factor. You should not experience chatter with proper pedal adjustment.

Is this too much clutch for 320whp daily driven?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This clutch kit will work very well for a daily driver with 320whp and would be a good choice.

  • Q: Roughness   Robby5 years ago

So I have this clutch along with an ACT Streetlite flywheel. It has rough engagement in 1st and reverse. Is it supposed to he that way? I had it professionally installed and it is noticeably rough after 1600 mi. I have an 04 WRX
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A heavy duty pressure plate will engage harsher than stock and that is normal. You can try adjusting your clutch pedal and flushing your clutch hydraulic fluid to help feather the clutch a little more.

  • Q: Good for daily driver?  Matty A.5 years ago

I have an 03 WRX and I plan to get around 400 ft/lbs of torque one day while still using it as a daily driver. Will this clutch be a good choice for me?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This clutch is rated up to 430ft/lbs at the crank, so it should work fine for you if you are looking to make that 400ft/lbs at the crank. If you are looking for 400ft/lbs at the wheels you may want to go with a stronger clutch.
