The Kartboy Cable Shifter Lock has been designed to reduce the shifter play in 1-2 shifts. These have been designed with a 30% glass filled injection molded nylon, and will work with the factory shifter, as well as the STI option.
This is a great addition to the Kartboy Shifter Arm.
Note that bolt torque specs will be 10-12ln max for installation.

High quality product but do not overtighten. Could damage the plastic
This tiny little part drastically improves the 1st/2nd shift feels. Getting into 1st and 2nd is much more natural and quick. The shift simply falls into place. 10/10 recommend installing this part, along with a Boomba shift plate to greatly improve shift feel.
There are no install instructions for this product. The only resources I found were for the Perrin version, which should be exactly the same process. Do not tighten the screws until you are 100% ready to go, once you tighten it down, it will compress the plastic, leaving an imprint and causing the hole to become slightly smaller than the screw, adjusting it precisely after realizing it wasn't completely aligned was a nightmare. Afterwards, shifting to first from neutral does feel different, I'm not sure if it is as night/day as some people claim, but there is a difference. One thing I did definitely notice though is that after installing this, you will notice the reverse collar shake as it hits the stop ever time you shift to first/second from neutral.
The first thing I noticed about the 15/16 WRX was the really long 1st to 2nd throw. My commute to work is mainly city/backroad driving where I rarely get past 4th gear. This shifter lock really came to the rescue and cut down on the throw time. Before the install, the 1st to 2nd throw was just so sloppy and awkward. I would give the product a 5 for install, but it can be a tad tricky for first time users. A lot of people mentioned that when they install the lock, they can't find 5th gear. It's probably easiest to install if you put the car in 5th gear, finger tighten the screws and then go through the gear box making sure you hit all of the other gears. I've had the lock on for over a month, no complaints at all.
Very good improvement for the 2015/16 wrx shifter. The left shift stop is terrible (as you likely know if your reading this review), this does drastically improve that and gives you the opportunity to adjust the shift stop on the right at the same time. This item is plastic.... However I find it does its intended job perfectly. I do not have one of its competitors products to compare to, but the feel is solid and the price is right.
