Description

The SF Intake & Airbox combo/kit includes two great products offered in a package at reduced pricing.

The C.A.R.B. certified COBB Tuning SF Intake for the Subaru WRX / STI utilizes COBB's custom design to maintain optimal flow while minimizing turbulence found with many aftermarket intake systems. This configuration provides the most consistent power for everyday use while at the same time allowing some audible performance feedback!

The COBB Tuning SF Air Box was developed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF Intake through the factory intake snorkel. Constructed of 16 ga. Aluminum, the heat shield consists of a one piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge.

Note: The COBB Tuning SF Intake system for the 2008+ models w the ll require use of specific OTS (off the shelf mapping) provided for their AccessPORT ecu tuning device.

RHD WRX 2014 custom tuned
Sub Zero 1 month ago
So I chose this intake based on watching all the youtube intake videos. I knew this was the loudest but I noted that it was still pretty easy to hear a q300 in the background. This was not my experience. It completely dominates the q300 tbe. Im not saying that is a bad thing, but I realise I mite get sick of it in time. However, what I absolutely love is putting the fear of God into those obnoxious cyclists who take up half the road. It is so loud they must wonder if its the last sound they are ever going to hear. Funny thing is Im just doing 2800rpm (ebcs makes it kick in at 2400 rpm). Just a note on installing a ebcs in conjunction with an intake, it will cause a rapid cutting out sound at WOT.

Very noticeable

Noticed the difference right off the back and installation was super easy. Great quality product from Cobb, extremely happy with this purchase. This with an access port and a quality exhaust system would surely enhance that Subaru rumble you love so much.

Awesome Sound Difference

The sound difference between this and the stock intake is amazing. Between that, and the upgraded look under the hood I love this mod. I am not 100% sure about any actual performance gains though.

Awesome Product

After reading all the reviews and feedback I decided to go for COBB Intake and got it installed. The only issues I faced was I did not reset my ECU because my car is under warranty (30K only and warranty expires at 60K). I drove without any issues for couple of days until my engine check light went on. Took the car back to the dealer and found ECU went into Lean mode - (Code: P0171 - System Too Lean Bank 1) because of airflow. We tried to change the O2 sensors to better ones and updated new ECU firmware from Subaru but still did not help... As per Subaru it is not a big deal regarding the code and it should be fine, so I end up getting a Mac Tool Scanner to reset the code and go on...

  • Q: Sound with intake  Jdaute2 2 months ago

    Answer

I’m about to install the Cobb SF intake and air box on my 2018 STI. Just curious, how’s the sound compared to the stock intake?

    • A: It can vary depending on your setup, but as a general rule, and aftermarket intake will give you more turbo spool and engine sound from your STI. I would recommend checking Youtube for sound clips of this intake to see if it's what you're looking for.
