COBB Tuning SF Intake Air Box Instock  QTY (1)

Features & Product Details

The SF Intake & Airbox combo/kit includes two great products offered in a package at reduced pricing.

The C.A.R.B. certified COBB Tuning SF Intake for the Subaru WRX / STI utilizes COBB's custom design to maintain optimal flow while minimizing turbulence found with many aftermarket intake systems. This configuration provides the most consistent power for everyday use while at the same time allowing some audible performance feedback!

The COBB Tuning SF Air Box was developed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF Intake through the factory intake snorkel. Constructed of 16 ga. Aluminum, the heat shield consists of a one piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge.

Note: The COBB Tuning SF Intake system for the 2008+ models w the ll require use of specific OTS (off the shelf mapping) provided for their AccessPORT ecu tuning device.

How To Regain Lost Torque WRX 2014 18 days ago
5out of 5stars

So just an update. If you have a tune designed to hold 17 psi to redline you will notice a loss of torque below 3000 rpm after installing this intake. Heres how to get it back. The most important thing to do is completely seal and thermally insulate the Cobb box (rubber, silicone, dei thermal barrier, aluminium tape etc). Now I have a box thats fed cold air and keeps it cold. This insulation process will make it a lot quieter, think Mad Max 2 opening scene. IMO its nice to hear more of the q300. Then the other part of the torque equation is putting a smaller tyre on e.g 245/40/17. Id recommend a tyre with stiff sidewall, I chose a soft sidewall and it took a lot of tuning to get the handling better (aggressive alignment + ALK, springs, wheels, adjusting konis etc). Now im super happy with the low end, high end, and sound of the car. It is the best intake if you take the time to seal and insulate it.

RHD WRX 2014 custom tuned 8 months ago
5out of 5stars

So I chose this intake based on watching all the youtube intake videos. I knew this was the loudest but I noted that it was still pretty easy to hear a q300 in the background. This was not my experience. It completely dominates the q300 tbe. Im not saying that is a bad thing, but I realise I mite get sick of it in time. However, what I absolutely love is putting the fear of God into those obnoxious cyclists who take up half the road. It is so loud they must wonder if its the last sound they are ever going to hear. Funny thing is Im just doing 2800rpm (ebcs makes it kick in at 2400 rpm). Just a note on installing a ebcs in conjunction with an intake, it will cause a rapid cutting out sound at WOT.

Noticed the difference right off the back and installation was super easy. Great quality product from Cobb, extremely happy with this purchase. This with an access port and a quality exhaust system would surely enhance that Subaru rumble you love so much.

Awesome Sound Difference 3 years ago
5out of 5stars

The sound difference between this and the stock intake is amazing. Between that, and the upgraded look under the hood I love this mod. I am not 100% sure about any actual performance gains though.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: Peak boost  Jbaek3 months ago

After installing the sf intake and installing the stage 1+ tune. What should the peak boost be? 20 psi? I been only getting 15 psi. I have tighten the clamp more. Also I have a brand new 18 wrx with 4k miles.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Stage 1+ on the 18 WRX should have peak boost around 19 psi, tapering down to around 17 psi at redline. If you are not hitting close to these numbers, I would suggest doing a boost leak test first. You would also be able to load Cobb's "Stage 1+ High Wastegate" map, which is meant for cars that are underboosting.

  • Q: Sound with intake  Jdaute29 months ago

I’m about to install the Cobb SF intake and air box on my 2018 STI. Just curious, how’s the sound compared to the stock intake?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It can vary depending on your setup, but as a general rule, and aftermarket intake will give you more turbo spool and engine sound from your STI. I would recommend checking Youtube for sound clips of this intake to see if it's what you're looking for.
