You want the air intake away from the engine to get cold air not hot air that doesn’t cool the engine just Invest in a cold air intake

Put this on my wife's 06 forester xt and it fit like a glove. Gives a good sound as well. very happy with product and always super happy with rallysportdirect. Would recommend to anyone with same vehicle looking for a touch more power at end of rpm's and nice sound.
AEM Short Ram Nice but...

Hey Guys. So I have an 05 sti. Few things done, "Stage 2 plus" you could say. 90,000 miles. The AEM product is nice. Great product. But the intake is missing big things. -COLOR- the red is not the Subaru red. You would think "wrinkled red. or even wrinkled black" would be a standard now for subies. -FITMENT- the fitment is off. Where the intake bends towards the passenger, the flex spacer and bolt are suppose to fit into an existing hole for a ground, but when you attach it there the hood can not close. The intake fits to high and doesn't allow clearance. I ended up just fishing a zip tie through the hole and the intake hole. So it is basically just resting on the zip tie, which allows for 2" of fall for the intake and allows clearance. I know this is the correct one for my car, just not sure why it doesn't fit right. -FILTER DIRECTION- Im surprised that the intake bends away from the already existing intake regulator hole located In the passanger side fender. Why not just let it bend towards the front of the car to be able to pick up air coming from that hole rather than putting its back to it? pics below

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: Fitment? usctrojans759280625 4 years agoAnswer
I am looking at this pipe compared to my stock. The AEM pipe is so much longer, will this fit correct even with my front mount pipes going through the side?
A: We can not guarantee fitment with a FMIC kit. For most FMIC kits, we recommend the Cobb intake or the Perrin.

Q: Compatibility Tayshawne 6 years agoAnswer
Will this be compatible on with JDM '04 Sti?
A: I do believe this would work on the JDM STi since it is compatible with the 2.0L and 2.5L. AEM has not confirmed fitment on non USDM vehicles though so we don't know the specifics if there are any modifications needed for installation so please be aware that there might be some differences.
