Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct is proud to bring you some of the best lubricants in the industry brought to you by Red Line.
This is the Red Line 75W90NS GL-5 Gear Oil. This is a fully-synthetic GL-5-type gear oil that doesn't contain the friction modifiers for limited-slip hypoid differentials. This makes the transmission synchronizers come to equal speeds more quickly, allowing faster shifting and much easier low-temperature shifting. Can also be used in racing limited-slip differentials when weak spring design causes too much wheel spin.
Recommended for Subaru manual transmissions.

Put this in my 2005 STi and I noticed that it shifts a lot nicer than before. I read a lot of great reviews on this product which led me to by it and I'm very happy with the decision.
Did not work in my wrx's 5spd. Not long after I put it in I had trouble shifting gears mainly 2nd to 3rd. After about 10k I drained it out and the fluid looked terrible almost milky like it had broken down. I filled with extra-s and the trans shifts perfect again. Didn't work for me.
I recently changed the fluid in the transmission on my 2006 STi from the OEM fluid to this Redline 75w90ns fluid. Initially there seemed to be no difference, but after 4 or 5 days I began to hear a metal on metal sound coming from the transmission. After 7 days I couldn't stand the sound any longer, so I replaced the fluid with OEM fluid from the dealership. I don't know if this fluid did any damage to the drive controlled center differential (DCCD), but just to be safe I will keep the fluid OEM.
Heard that many other people used redline in their wrx. Gave it a try, tranny shifts smoother than ever before. Would Defiantly recommend filling up with redline during your next trans flush.
I've ran a couple thousand miles with about 4 quarts of this in my WRX's tranny. Noticed it was slightly easier to shift after the change, but that can probably contributed to the old fluid. Will see how it performs now that it's getting below freezing.

Q: 75w90NS for 2005 STI Rear differntial 05subiguy9 months ago
I would like to know if I can use this for the rear differntial of my 2005 STI, I have read that the 2005 STI has a mechanical lsd and works better with friction modifiers.

A: You can if you add their friction modifier, but honestly I just prefer an oil that already has that built in like this one: https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/lsd-oil-and-additives/mou-100122-motul-90-pa-limited-slip-differential-oil-2-1qt-subaru-r180-rear-diff Thanks!
