QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: 2004 Forester XT compatibility davejorr7 months agoWhat are the differences in the radiators for 2004-5 vs 2006-8? Why are the all aluminium radiators listed as 2004-8?

A: Good question. The 04-05 OEM radiators do not have the filler neck with radiator cap on the radiator, where the 06-08 do. On the aluminum radiators, the manufacturers figure it wont be a problem as you're buying a "performance racing part" and can deal with the the small modifications needed to get it to work, but if Jon is looking for a direct bolt in radiator for his forester and it's not the same as stock, it's going to be a problem. So yes, this will work on your 04-05 Forester, but you will now have an extra filler next on the top of the radiator that will require a radiator cap, and the pressure relief hose will need to be Teed into the hose running to the overflow tank. Hope this helps.Rick C. @ RallySport Direct 6 months ago
