This is the Process West Khanacooler Top Mount Intercooler designed to keep those intake air charge temperatures low so that all of your go fast goodies in your engine bay can thrive. Once you have surpassed the power limits of your factory top mount intercooler, not only do you hinder the performance of the rest of your modifications, but you also risk heat-soaking the intercooler. Process West remedies this issue by fabricating a quality top mount intercooler that is a direct replacement of your factory top mount intercooler that is slightly larger and provides better volume and surface coverage.
Process West also includes a new splitter to accommodate this intercooler and to provide proper ducting and shrouding to suit the increased size. If you have a larger intercooler without a proper splitter designed specifically for that intercooler than you will not have any increases in ambient air flow. Additionally, Process West also includes a high-temperature resistant intercooler hose that will not break down, or expand under pressure.
Note that this particular intercooler will come coated in a black heat-dissipating finish to add a cleaner look to the engine bay. Hardware, as well as a set of worm clamps, will be included to make this intercooler ready for installation.

If you’re like me, you’re probably looking for an alternative to the Verticooler due to its premium price. I took a chance on the Khanacooler (despite its funny name) and I have absolutely no regrets. I hope my ratings below will convince you to buy this. And NO this is not a paid review. Performance: 5 stars. I’m on FBO with a conservative power output of 303 WHP/327 TQ. I ran autocross with my car on a hot day with absolutely no temperature issues. I have full confidence in this TMIC. Ease of install: 5 stars. You literally take out the stock TMIC and throw this one in. No issues. The only small issue I had was with the air duct (yes, it includes an air duct!). It was slightly off center but I made it work. A piece of advice: Ensure that the coupler going to the intake manifold is secure since it is at an awkward angle. Overall, the hardest part of the entire install was removing the stock TMIC. Value: 5 stars. Again, if you don’t want to pay the premium price for other TMICs, the Khanacooler will serve you right. The kit includes an air duct as well as an alternator cover; a nice bonus! Quality: 5 stars. It is a solid piece. I got the Khanacooler in black and it is still running strong with no color fade or anything. Overall Rating: 5 stars. If you’re debating on purchasing this, just do it and you won’t regret it.
installed easily enough.. problem is the clamps they supply. T-bolt clamps are really needed. The supplied hose is very good. The alternater shroud was a surprise, I didn't expect this part to be included. Imstructions were ok, but it took me quite a while to figure out how to turn the two plastic clamps '180' degrees. Intercooler is very nice. Built quality seems outstanding. I using stock charge pipe for now, but will likely by the Process West charge pipe later.
Easy to install and looks great! I've only done minor data logging but so far so good. I haven't stress tested it in conditions where it could be better over stock or taken it to the track yet. But otherwise this is a good choice for the budget. The instructions could of been a little more detailed but I was able to figure everything out. The black coating pairs great with the red piping from the Perrin charge pipe and intake I have installed. Rallysportdirect processed and shipped it super quick!!

Will this fit the Gen5 Legacy GT? The Legacy shares the same P/N for the OEM intercooler as the 2015+ WRX, and TMICs designed by other aftermarket manufacturers have been confirmed to fit.

A: At this point, We or Process West have not been able to confirm the fitment on the Legacy GT. Although the Factory parts might be the same, there would be a possibility that a larger core could have fitment issues but at this time we are not sure.

A: The intercooler core itself will fit but the under hood duct that comes with the kit will not fit the the Legacy.

A: The factory part numbers for a stock TMIC are identical between a 5th gen Legacy GT and a 2015+ wrx. But i am still wondering the same thing, as i am considering purchasing a 2015= wrx intercooler for my 5th gen LGT.

A: Factory charge pipe is retained or you can purchase any aftermarket charge pipe that is design to fit the factory intercooler.
