This is the second aftermarket intake I have had installed on my 14 focus st. I started with the Steeda full intake it was a nice looking kit that made great use of the air coming from the grill. But the sound was lacking and I wanted more induction noise and does this kit deliver on that front. Sure it is lacking in a few areas and I will have to fabricate another anchor point and maybe add to the heat shield to direct more fresh air towards it. But its all worth it for that noise!!!

Yes, this intake is very loud, but in such a good way. Really gives it a mean sound. There definitely is better response, and coupled with a tune and other goodies, this intake is up there with the best, as I've had multiple over the past 3 years. The heat shield seems to butt up right to the hood, and allows the stock cold air feed to go straight to the intake filter. Install was very simple, slipped right onto the turbo, and the shield mounted right up. Couldn't ask for a better install or product. I know Process West is big with the Subaru gang, so I am hoping this and their intercooler can really hit big for us Focus ST owners! First thing I noticed after installing this intake is just how loud the sound is coming from that BIG open element K&N air filter is. The sound is a good sound, don't get me wrong. As for performance gains, I can only give you my feelings, as I have yet to bring the car to the dyno. It feels about the same as the COBB intake to be honest, no earth shattering difference between the two, but that was to be expected. The sound is much more prominent when comparing it to the COBB intake. Hearing the turbo suck all that air in while accelerating is pretty amazing, and when you lift it's like an explosion of sound from the engine. You have to hear it to understand! I would definitely recommend this intake for your Focus ST!

A: Flutter when off throttle is from a blowoff valve or bypass valve. An intake can make the OEM unit more audible, but that is not always the case.
