  • Q: Tune selection   14WRX1 year ago

I have a 14 WRX sedan with a nameless air intake and cat back. What map would you recommend?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A catback would not require a tune, and depending on the intake, some do not require a tune. The Cobb OTS maps are designed for Cobb parts.

  • Q: AccessPORT Installation Question  ZanderO2 years ago

I heard on a forum that I am not required to select a preset tune map when I install the Accessport. I have lots of Mods on my car from the previous owner and he said it was tuned already. I don't want to mess up any current tune on my car but I want the AccessPORT so eventually I can get it ProTuned. Is this possible and if so where should I go to find out how to skip the tune map selection process? Thanks!
  • Q: Cobb v3 tune  Supercooped2 years ago

Does my car need to be on a stock tune before I install the stage 3 tune? My old tuner broke so I can not convert back to the stock tune
  • Q: Engine swap  dr10432 years ago

If I swapped the engines, same engine just a different one, do I need to reinstall the access port?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Since the AccessPort is tied to your ECU, you won't need to reinstall it. You may need to re-flash it if it's been unplugged for a while.

  • Q: Installing an accessport over a tune  Nate2 years ago

I have a 2013 wrx and a little over a year ago my car was tuned for optimization and throttle response. I just bought an accessport but before i install it it says “installation of this accessport over anything other than OEM or COBB software may result in ECU/TCU failure,” I’m perfectly fine with my current tune being overwritten, I just want to make sure I won’t cause ECU failure through installation. The initial tune was done through a shop, and im not sure what software they used to tune, am I taking a big risk by installing it?
  • Q: Cobb AccessPort  Turbos n Hoes2 years ago

Do I have to use the accessport with ONLY cobb products or can I mix up the companies with the mods I use?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You are welcome to use other companies as well, but there may not be a tune map made just for your combo of parts and you may need to get a custom tune.

  • Q: Compatibility  Mattylow13rex2 years ago

Ok so this is a tough one and if you guys can’t answer then I’m gonna have to call a tuning shop and find out. So my ej25 blew up due to ringland failure (surprise, surprise lol) and I bought a jdm ej205 to swap into my car because it was a little cheaper and I wouldn’t have to worry about the ringland problem. I had to switch wiring harnesses because the jdm harness on the 2.0 was routed the opposite way for rhd cars. So I swapped my 2.5 harness onto the 2.0 and my question is could I use this AP in my 2013 wrx that has the 2.0 motor in it with the 2.5 harness? I don’t see why it would be a problem since I have the ej25 harness on the motor but I just want to clear it up before I order it and it not work.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  AccessPort is tied to the ECU, so in theory it would work, but you would definitely want professional tuning done for the new motor.

  • Q: COBB Accessport + current unknown tune = ???  adman.hambone2 years ago

so i have just purchased a cobb stage 1+ kit and the accessport says “flashing this tune over a different tune other than cobb or stock may cause ECU Failure” my car currently has a tune that a previous owner put on and i’m not sure if it is tuned by an accessport what do i do?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  That's a tough one, but I'm 98% sure you would be fine overwriting the previous tune, but your only other option really would be to try to find out what the PO used and get the stock tune back on it. Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Q: What tune is best  nicksmith20092 years ago

I have a 2011 WRX that has some mods installed. It has an AEM cold air intake, Invidia exhaust with catted downpipe, Grimmspeed EBCS, and a process west topmount intercooler. Its currently running the stage 2+ SF tune but im not sure if thats right for the car, will it hurt the car to continue running that map?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  hard to say if it would hurt the car or not for sure, but you are correct in that the AEM intake will require a custom tune to be 100% safe. hope this helps. Thanks

I recently got my wrx from a dealership. The car already had a Cobb accessport v3 in it but once I got the car home the screen wont turn on on the accessport. Cobb says I need the code that comes on the box but since the car already came with it, I dont have the box. Anything i can do?

  • Q: Advice   Chrisd 2 years ago

I have a 2016 Subaru wrx, I have some mods done to it. Such as Mishimoto front mount intercooler, Cobb air intake, mishimoto thermostatic oil sandwich plate, Mishimoto oil catch can. Mishimoto TGV delete. Pcv delete, turbo backs. COBB accessport V3, stage 2 And I’m sure there is many more mods. Bought the car off a friend so I didn’t not install these mods my self. I am replacing the short block because the oil rings have gone. Can some one give me some advice in regards to having to install or these mods or are these mods good on a new engine?

Hello, Hello I recently added a turbo to my n/a Subaru legacy. I was wondering if this AcessPort will be compatible? I used the TD04 turbo with 2010 Subaru legacy GT components?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Unfortunately this would not work with you since you do not have the same ecu as the wrx.

  • Q: Does the accessport have to be reset to factory settings if using on a different vehicle?  J3 years ago

I am selling my current accessport, and the buyer wants to know if it has been 'unmarried' (I am assuming this is another word for unpaired; please correct me if I am wrong). I have only paired it once with my wrx. Can it still be used on a different vehicle or does it need to be recalibrated in some way? Kindly advise!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You would need to unmarry it from your vehicle, it is something you can do in the settings.

  • Q: Cobb accesport   Luke Villanueva 3 years ago

I have a 2015 wrx and I have installed an ams cold air intake and a borla catback exhaust. Will the cobb accessport support my mods or do I have to go to a dyno
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The COBB AccessPort will support them, but to take complete full advantage of their capabilities it's not a bad idea to get a dyno tune.

  • Q: COBB AP  Manual vs auto 3 years ago

I have a mk7 gti manual and bought an accessport on Facebook from a guy with the same car but he did not specify if it’s a manual or auto. Would that be a problem?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  According to Cobb, it should not matter either way if your vehicle is a manual, and you should be able to use it without issues.

    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Accessport can be used to hold custom tunes, you will want to have your tuner give you a file for your Accessport before marrying the device to your car.

  • Q: Maps  nds177534533 years ago

I have stage 2 modifications on my '13 wrx. Is it possible to run the stock map with stage 2 components without issue? I understand that this is not ideal by any means but will it damage the engine in any way? If not, is there a OTS stage 2 map Cobb provides that does not adjust the boost tables. (Trying to stay within a certain autox class)
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Running the stock map with Stage 2 components would be risking engine damage. I would see if a pro tuner in your area can make a map that will be eligible for your Autocross class.

  • Q: Cobb tune  18stang3 years ago

Can a cobb tune tune any mods u do to your car? Like say if u use stage 2 cobb tune, but then put in a waste gate/blow off valve that requires a tune, can the cobb do it? And how.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Cobb OTS maps are made for specific modifications, which vary depending on vehicle. For other items that require custom tuning (turbo, injectors, wastegates, etc), you are able to have the vehicle professionally tuned with Cobb's Accesstuner software, and the Accessport is able to store those maps.

  • Q: 2006 WRX  chrisdebique3 years ago

Will the cobb access port adjust the stage tune depending on what mods you have ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Accessport will not automatically adjust the tune, you'll need to make sure you have the correct modifications and flash the appropriate OTS map, or have a custom tune done if a map is not available for your setup. You'll also want part number AP3-SUB-002 for your 06 WRX.

i have an 08 sti with a pre emissions air pump delete. Would the tune overwrite the changes already done to the ecu?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Although you would be able to adjust the ECU to account for this through Accesstuner, Cobb's OTS maps will not automatically overwrite that.
