  • Q: Tune  M1Freeway25 days ago

I've got a tmic, invidia catless downpipe, invidia catback r400 exhaust, 1000cc fuel injectors, DW300c fuel pump, cobb tune fuel pressure regulator kit and was wondering if the accessport would work? or should i forget about the accessport and get a protune?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You would need a protune for your setup. However, many tuners tune through AccessTuner, and you'd still be able to monitor gauges, read codes, store maps, etc with the Accessport, so it would still have some benefits.

Will the Cobb AP erase my current Protune when marrying?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Yes, the Accessport will wipe out a pro tune when marrying, and Cobb recommends you save a copy of the tune to your computer before marrying the Accessport.

Hi. I have a 2018 wrx bone stock with a custom straight pipe 3 inches all the way can I use the ap to tune my car or will I need a custom tune from a local tuner?

  • Q: Question about accessport V3  Bugeye wrex 12 months ago

If I just have a catback exhaust (but it is not a cobb exhaust) can this still tune my car reliably? I do not want to, nor do I have any other mods done to the car.... Just want to know if this can tune my car to an aftermarket exhaust and be reliable? (my car is a 2002 WRX)
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you just have an exhaust you won't need this. If you want to monitor your vehicle with this you can but there isn't much you can tune for just the catback.

I have an uprated feud pump A wrx tmic silicone hosing mishimoto A vf 39 Down pipe Cat back has exhaust I purchased the ap v3, do I require to change the mid pipe to a straight pipe to obtain the turbo back exhaust set up. I really would want the midpipe as I want to keep it "street legal" and do I need to change the tmic to an sti one or the other one is good, so can I use the stage 3 map with the cat back setup and the tmic or do i need to change them ? Btw thank you for your service and merry xmas !
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you have a car with a larger turbo, you are going to need a pro tune as the Cobb map will not support the larger turbo.

  • Q: COBB Capabilities  darint07672522 years ago

Does this work even if my other aftermarket parts aren't COBB? I.E. had the short ram air intake from COBB but had a full exhaust from Nvidia or HKS. And if so, is there specific maps for each add on?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The AccessPort will work best with Cobb products, but they are capable of working with parts from different manufacturers. There are specific maps that will require certain parts in order for the map to work properly. Cobb Tuning will have details on which map will work and what parts are needed.

I am thinking of ordering the Stage 1 kit for my 02 WRX and I was wondering if the kit came with everything I need, or if I need to buy the blue intializer thing separate or not or if it is really necessary, and if it is, where does it plug into?
  • Q: 2002 WRX  fhWRX2 years ago

I have a bone stock 2002 wrx except i have a 3 inch cat back exhaust. Will my car require anything else or should I be fine to get the access port?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  COBB's Stage 1 map requires nothing but a stock vehicle for the map to apply, the catback is not going to require any specialty map.

  • Q: Tune?  04wrx3 years ago

Do i still need a tune even eith the AP?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Access port will have plenty of OTS map the come pre-installed that will work with most of your parts. Anything that the Access port cannot tune will have to be tuned at a shop. Use Cobbtuning.com to see what maps are available for your car, and what parts are able to be tuned.

  • Q: Am I using the wrong map?  Jhonymendoza06787743 years ago

i have an 04 STI, mods are full TBE, intake, ported vf39, 08 sti fuel pump, and v2 accesport. Recently had the car rebuilt back to oem spec before I got these mods added. I chose the basic stage 2 91 oct map and it waste gas INSANLY fast. I fuel up and the next day I can already see a noticeable drop in my gas level. It wasn't doing this before the ap. Before I was actually impressed how far I could go with a single tank. Could choosing the wrong map lead to this issue?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will want to verify you have the latest version of the map and everything is correct like boost levels according to the map you are using and COBB's map notes. With increased boost an increase in fuel consumption is expected and results can vary depending on how you drive.

I have a no brand name front mount intercooler, can I get a tune on the v3 for my specific parts?
  • Q: Which map  lawrence543 years ago

I'm looking at purchasing the stage one power package. I have an 03 wrx that already has an after market exhaust on it. I was just curious which map should I use once the intake is installed, and other modifications that come with the package?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If your car has an aftermarket downpipe installed, then you will want to install the stage 2 map. If you are using your stock downpipe, the stage 1 map will be the correct map.

  • Q: Which AP is best?  Jhonymendoza06787743 years ago

i just bought an 04 sti. I'm having a fresh oem rebuild being done and having my stock turbo rebuilt, ported and polished. Only mods are intake and TBE exhaust. Does buying the V3 Really do anything more than the other access ports? I hear it has more gauges but does it give a better tune than the older models?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The V3 is the latest version of the AccessPort. The display is much more detailed and is physically larger. It has a faster hardrive, which speeds up the flashing process and all around function. It can display up to 6 Gauges on the screen at once. you can adjust the ffs (flat foot shift) and launch control on the unit instead of having to convert the map on the computer and upload to the AP. Set your rev warnings on the ap itself! You can leave it plugged into the obdII port all the time since it has an on/off button on it. It comes with the ability to change the faceplates and also comes with a holder that is magnetic so it is much easier to handle.
