Sealing like a loud metal cricket

BUY OEM!!! This throwout bearing is making an unbearably loud squealing noise that is very noticeable even at highway speeds over the drone of my exhaust. On top of it being aggravating, it's embarassing that my car now sounds like crap at car meets. I've put 250mi on my car and it continues to grow louder, I am very frustrated and upset with the quality of this part after installing a new ACT clutch.

Great quality bearing

I bought the Exedy clutch kit replacement for my wrx. I went stage 2 and my current clutch was starting to slip, 5000 miles later the throw out bearing started going and squealed constantly at idle and in gear. Replaced it with this and clutch feels much smoother, no noise. Very good buy

    • A: OEM REPLACEMENT AWESOME... LIKE I SAID I HAVE AN EXEDY STAGE 2 THATS 6 MONTHS OLD ANT MY RELEASE BEARING IS LOUD AS HELL NOW... WILL THIS BEARING WORK WITH THE EXEDY STAGE 2 CLUTCH????

    • A: This is the same Throw Out bearing used in ACT's Kits and should have no issues with your clutch

  • Q: Improved over Exedy part?  nospam.chrism80609 5 years ago

    Answer

Is this higher quality than the Exedy/OEM part? I used the TOB included in my Exedy clutch kit 1 year (and only 8000 miles) and I'm already getting that damn squeal from the TOB.

    • A: This is a direct OEM replacement bearing and should have similar specifications to OEM.

  • Q: OEM Pairing  Smljhndnsmr 5 years ago

    Answer

Would it be safe to pair this ACT release bearing with the OEM clutch/flywheel of a 2006 WRX TR?

    • A: This bearing can be used with the stock clutch and will be a direct replacement for the stock bearing.
