Subaru WRX 2008-2014 / STI 2008-2015
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct proudly carries a great selection of quality aftermarket performance products brought to you by PERRIN Performance.
This is the PERRIN Performance Cold Air intake. This has been designed to be a performance modification that will increase horsepower, and torque, as well as improve the throttle response while reducing the turbo lag. This is achieved through the design that provides the turbocharger with a larger volume of unobstructed airflow to allow the turbo to breathe much easier to produce the performance.

I ran this without a tune for a few weeks car was fine. But make sure everything else is stock. Only down side is I had to get a protune for it because COBB does not have a OTS tune for it. If you want more turbo noise get it!
Great Service from the Rallysportdirect Team. Easy to install and arrived promptly!
filter looked great installed till I went to mount the PERRIN FMIC. the filter is too large. After looking over PERRINs site I noticed there is another filter that is needed for a FMIC install called 'Universal application 2.75" I.D. inlet filter, 9" length.' My understanding is its about 2 inches shorter and will allow the FMIC tubes to fit without any issues.
I chose the Perrin intake based off a recommendation and am very pleased. The simplistic design is exactly what I was looking for and the build quality is equally impressive. The sound is excellent and it seems to give me a little better turbo response.
Easy install and sounds amazing. Can feel the power gain right away after install.

Q: Tuning sleevedout757 years ago
The specs say 'does not require tune' but I read some Q&A and someone asked if it needed a tune and y'all replied with 'yes, tune is required w/this intake'. Sooo, yes or no, does it require a tune? If so, the specs that say no tune required, need to be changed. Would like to know the answer.

A: Perrin states that you do not need a tune with this intake, which is why we have it listed as such on the Specs section. However, we always recommend tuning your car after installing an intake. You risk having the car run too lean with the added airflow the intake provides.

A: This doesn’t fit at all which is surprising. The cai piping and filter bulge out the inner fender liner which in turn causes rub and in my case the need for new fender liners. We tried every adjustment possible and this doesn’t fit with a Perrin FMIC. My next step is replacing the now torn liner and having my local shop fab me up a CAI extension to replace the fender pipe that’s causing every issue. Perrin was contacted and I’m awaiting a response...
