Subaru WRX/STI 2002-2007
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct carries a great selection of aftermarket performance products brought to you by PERRIN Performance.
Here, you are looking at the PERRIN Performance Cold Air Intake System. This intake system has been designed to be a direct replacement for the factory intake system to increase both horsepower and torque while reducing the turbo lag and increasing the throttle response. This is all possible by allowing the turbocharger to inhale a larger volume of air without the restriction associated with the factory intake box.

Overall it's a nice piece. The only issue is the little bracket that they have you install in the fender well. I didn't remove my bumper cover to do the install, but I probably should have. Getting that bracket lined up and attached to the filter was 90% of the install. I'd suggest drinking 2 beers before starting, one during then finish the rest when you are done.
Easy installation that fits perfectly. Definitely hear the stock turbo spool up which I love. The new filter location is in the passenger front wheel well so make sure your belly pan and wheel liner are in good shape or you'll end up sucking water and locking up the engine.

Q: Compatible with fmic? Nate2 years ago
Will this fit with the Perrin fmic on an 02?

A: This will most likely run into fitment issues with the FMIC piping. You would be better off with the Perrin short ram intake to clear the intercooler piping.

A: Please contact PERRIN regarding tuning. A tune is NOT required for the 2002-2007 WRX/STI and this Intake. This Intake will be perfectly safe on the stock tune, it does not change the AFR's enough to harm anything on the car.

Q: Tuning Attia19910 years ago
Hello I have a custom COBB accessport tune, im running the short ram COBB SF intake without the airbox. Will switching to this intake need a retune? or will it run the same? thanks

A: The COBB off the shelf maps are only confirmed to work with the COBB sf intake. This may work but we cannot confirm compatibility and the tune is not specifically designed for this intake. This intake would be better suited if you were to get a custom tune.
